Nothing new with Inter, but still, what a crazy turn of events.

Asamoah saved us from a classic nightmarish scenario, with his miraculous and not-so-obvious clearance on the line.
And Lautaro gave us what we badly needed, scoring a vital and not-so-obvious goal (de media vuelta, or “half turn”, to quote Lele Adani who simply can't resist during his commentary when something involves South America).
Inter-PSV is a distant memory all in a sudden for both of them. Cathartic.

And for all the mistakes that Spalletti has arguably made since he joined us, through the ups and downs, his stubbornness and his idiosyncrasies, the first half was a perfect remainder of the fact that he built something with the players and gave an identity to this team, up until this recent sort of 4-3-3 formation, working under difficult and well-known circumstances.
Credit where it's due, and Luciano deserved the outcome of tonight's game, tactically and with his subs.

Footnote: unfortunately nothing new with Curva Nord either, as it seems, and it's indeed a disgrace.

I had to use that Gagliardini one:lol: Merry Christmas Dogen!

You're welcome - and Merry Christmas to you too (and FIF)! The avatar brought luck. Cheers

I do hope the majority of people making racist noises at Koulibaly are identified and banned for life. It was a fantastic game of football, genuinely enjoyed watching Inter for once, but now the only thing people are talking about is those imbecile troglodytes hiding in the masses like the cowards they are. It's dampened the good mood from the victory considerably.

For what it's worth, Koulibaly played an absolute monster, 10/10 game, and if Napoli had won it would have been his victory alone pretty much. If it wasn't for the chants, I also don't think he would have lost his head and clapped the ref. I hope if it ever happens again at the San Siro, both teams walk off the pitch. For goodness sake, look at Keita and Asamoah, just because they're wearing black and blue it doesn't change the colour of their skin. You're insulting them while being fans of a club called Internazionale.

Honestly, this world beggars belief sometimes.

I thought Perisic was one of our better players in the first half, if not our best player. He’s looked much better in these last two games.

He started playing like shit in the second half, and was glad to see him taken off, but all-in-all, he seems to be improving.

You guys see this shit about the 4 Napoli supporters that got stabbed & the inter fan that got run over???

This stupid shit has to fucking stop. Tomorrow’s headlines deservedly so will be about the moronic Ultras. This is abysmal, and it’s going to take away from a wonderful game.

Fuck these douche bags

Today's game between the supposed 'contenders' just showed why Juve are walking away with the scudetto. I mean seriously, the overall quality of play was pretty shite from both Inter and Napoli. This game would have ended 0-0 if Koulibaly didn't get himself sent off by sarcastically clapping at a moody referee. That kinda summed up the game for me.

Koulibaly lost his head probably because of the racist chanting from a section of the home crowd, which disgusts me. I hate to see such racist behaviour in any football game, but its worse when it comes from people who call themselves nerazzurri, "brothers of the world" where players of any nationality are welcome. Its disgusting and this kind of stuff has no place in football. I hope Inter are fined severely, even docked points, because only when such action is taken will the clubs take this menace seriously. Those people shouting racist abuse need to be identified on video, banned from the stadium for life, and maybe even taken to court.

Not a good day, despite the win. My MOTM is Koulibaly, who played like a giant despite the abuse. IMO the fucker of the match is that pussy referee, who sent off Koulibaly instead of stopping the game much earlier.

Koulibaly basically what keep Napoli alives, that goalline saves says it all. Thought this gonna end draw as Juve favour but then think ref want us to win more or atleast give us upperhand. This situation not gonna happen if we face rubentus.

im a fan of napoli and thier style and all, but this year its all on insigne in attack and allan in midfield.

i wish we got big money and just go and buy this two players.

I agree with everything you said apart from the above. I especially, emphatically agree with clubs being docked points for racist chants, punishment on a grand scale is the only thing that gets through the skulls of these pathetic sub-humans.

What I can't agree on is that this was a shit game. I thought this was an excellent Serie A game. High tempo, creativity, swift passing, 2 goal-line clearances and most importantly, a performance from Koulibaly that should be shown to budding CBs in Primaveras around the world (obviously, minus the clapping). It's been a very long time since I've watched an opposition player play this well against us and not be annoyed, I was more mesmerized than anything. I am shocked at how good Koulibaly really is.

The possibility of the game finishing 0-0 isn't a negative mark on it in this case, it was two attacking sides being thwarted by the opposition's defensive cohesion. Skriniar-De Vrij also did very well to keep Milik/Mertens/Insigne quiet, even if Insigne had a shocker by his standards. I don't think anybody would have begrudged a 2-1 scoreline in this game, it's just that Asamoah and K2 were in the right place at the right time.

I'd also like to state how good Joao Mario was, if K2 wasn't on the pitch he would have been the absolute MotM. Certainly was for us IMO.

If that's how napoli play then they are shit tbh, they did almost nothing the entire game apart from that glorious chance. i was scared before the match and thought that they will rape us especially after juve draw.

kinda feel bad for koulibaly.. he's clearly rattled b the racist chants

I don't.

How can grown men that get paid millions of dollars to play a game get rattled by some dumb cunts making monkey noises it's just unbelievable to me.

Look at what, they're insulting Koulibaly, trying to get under his skin. Our players shouldn't feel alluded.

I just hope our players are smart enough to not let the stupid insults affect them.

If you dock points from the club, all you do is incentivise rival fans to attend game and chant racist shit all the time.

Also taking these fuckers to court would an authoritarian over-reach by the state.

I’m all for finding out who they are and banning them for life.

I agree, Perisic had a good game overall. He was brilliant against Callejon and the main reason why Spalletti outwitted Ancelotti in the first quarter of the game. After Hamsik left injured, Ancelotti corrected that error with Maksimovic at RB who did very well against Perisic. Its very hard to dribble past Maksimovic, and Inter struggled to create much danger from the left. After Koulibaly got sent off, Ancelotti moved Maksimovic to the centre and Callejon returned to the RB role, and thats when Keita started having a big impact.

My problem with Politano still remains. He looks good on the ball but still has very little end product, and is not helpful defensively. And his corners/crosses are getting progressively worse.

What I can't agree on is that this was a shit game. I thought this was an excellent Serie A game. I have no problem with the lack of goals, even a 0-0 can be a high quality game. I didn't rate this game highly because of the number of misplaced passes by both teams, specially in the 2nd half. I mean, we should expect better from the 2nd and 3rd best teams in Italy.

The racial abuse towards Koulibaly is sickening. We should be better than that.

Grande Marotta. He learnt his mistake from Chievo game. He ensured the transfer was done before 90th minute.

If we look upon the game-play, Serie A teams, all in all, are hardly entertaining. Even Rube played like shit against Atalanta. But personally for me, quality game-play does not determine the winning team. There's a lot of other factors.

However, last night game proved that Napoli and us do not possess a gap of quality. In the first half we did more than expected in my reckoning. It's just a matter of how they do this consistently and not underestimate the likes of Sassuolo, Torino, or Bologna. It's just a shame that this game was stained by stupid racist chants.

Regarding Napoli, for those who assumed that there'd be major offensive play by Napoli and a lot of fuck-ups in our defense, well it used to be like that. You all seem to forget that Sarri is no longer the helmet of Napoli. Ancelotti is far more pragmatic than the approach Sarri used to carry out. Either way, it does make Insigne look invincible.

SMH he's human. It's unbelievable to me that 1) He managed to put up with it for nearly 90 minutes 2) the ref didn't stop the match. Its not about how much you're paid, its about dignity and respect. Personally I would have walked off the pitch.
