Well done Inter for winning a boring game.

I have to say, i expected more from your team, and i thought we were unlucky not to get something from the game. Justice was done when Cruz missed the penalty, as Wattereus clearly got a touch of the ball, but i think in the end the extra bit of quality that you have shone through.

Materazzi looks a very good defender for you, and i thought it was between him and Kyrgiakos, who was excellent for us, for man of the match.

I am confident we will win at Ibrox

Welcome NZB..We hope to see u here before and after our next game.Although we didnt play well i wouldnt expect us to lose the second game with fans in the stands...I promise you the most u will get out of that one is a draw. Our players, despite their denial,(our coach too)have their eyes on the Juve game which to them is more important.I assure you it would have been a different game if it werent for these two circumstances...
Anyways best of luck.. :star:

Remember though that Inter will almost definitely already have qualified from the group by matchday 6 and Rangers may well be fighting for second place. We will be a totally different proposition at our gaff, with our magnificent support roaring us on ;)

We look forward to the return leg ;)

But dont kid yourself into thinking that this was some hard fought 1-0 victory we could have easily demolished u 3 or 4-0

*Martins "offside" goal
*Cruz's penalty :wallbang:
*Solari's miss :wth:

We rested 4 or our starters so we look forward to the match at Ibrox

Okay I watched the game a few hours ago, but I read these posts first.
I read and read all this bagging out of Solari...and yeah he miss was a disgraceful, but pretty much everything else was not justified.
He made a good cross, took a decent shot and tried after his miss. The rest of the time, he was missing...true...but did anyone even give him the ball? I saw Wome at left back with the ball about 100 times...he had Solari free but always went central...now how is that Santiago's fault that he can't involved in the game. I'm happy his crossing is up to patch.

Very bad game. Thank god its over, I'm gonna hate the game against Artmedia @ San Siro...that could get very ugly.

You're right, it could have been 3 or 4 nil, but it could also have been 0-0 or 1-1. All if's and but's. In the end we were beaten by a deflection, although i admit you were the better team, i don't think if we did get a point it would have been totally undeserved

That's right. I was about to mention the exact same incidents...

Rangers should count themselves lucky. If we had a full stadium we would have really decimated them. I respect you NZB for being nice and polite here and have no problem with you... but mate, don't kid yourself. Inter is extremely superior to Rangers...

I look forward to the match at your stadium and we will probably already be qualified by then so we won't field a very strong line-up, but none-the-less I expect a draw/win definitely.

Solari's miss wasn't THAT bad..... look at the compilation "worst misses ever" and his isn't as bad as some of those. His biggest problem is he's way to f-cking left-sided. If he had spent a few hrs developing his right foot when he was young he could have finished it easily first time.

It was just friggin' bad decision-making, Solari's miss. He could have easily took it with the outside of his left foot. But tried to run the ball to the net, Coz his tired??

I am in no doubt that Inter have a far better team than us, of course you do, but lets be honest here, you didn't exactly steamroller us. I thought we coped fairly well with your attack, our keeper didn't really have too much to do.
RE the incidents mentioned, the penalty should never have been awarded in the first place, the Martins 'goal' was borderline, and the Solari miss? well he made the wrong decision. Poor play. Lovenkrands missed one which was almost as easy in the first half.

You shouldn't under-estimate us at our stadium though. If Inter play like they did tonight, Rangers can definitely win it.

I just want to point out that the worst player of the game has gotta be UEFA. Playing in an empty stadium absolutely sucks. I am not going to use it to justify our mediocre performance since the atmosphere affected Rangers' performance too but like Facchetti, Mancini & Moratti had suggested, playing in a neutral stadium, or even at the Ibrox, would be a much better penalty both for Inter & for the game of football.

A short comment on the game, I am very pleased with the defence. Other than Lovenkrands' miss, the defence conceded nothing as Samuel & Matrix reproduced their Fiorentina performance. We will need both of them to be on at least this level to defend against the rejuvenated Trezeguet & Ibrahimovic on Sunday.

Martins was the best offensive player as his pace gave Rangers' defence a lot of problem and it was his pass that released Cruz which led to the penalty incident. Recoba was decent when he came on and created 2 good chances, one for Solari and another a good cross from the left that a normal Cruz would normally bury.

Overall, our performance is not too bad and I personally think that Rangers' performance was unbelievably over-rated, as offensively, they are extremely dull. Only Wome's mistake allowed them a good chance but other than that, they are just a solid side.

And yeah, a huge f*ck you to Hamed Namouchi for betraying Inter and playing for Rangers last night. :dielaugh::p

I think the Solari miss was acceptable, cause even the best player, he can not do everything he want to do when he is tired, in Chinese, there is a word "强弩之末,力不能入鲁缟", the mean is an arrow at the end of its flight-spent force can not shoot through a thin paper. maybe that Solari is in this situation. The most important thing is Solari's performance is better and better in the match, IMO.

Screw you Han! I played the game and made it back in time to post casually, but you caught me. Yes, my name is Hamed and I play in the SPL :D

Primo, you got a nice eye man. That miss wasn't that bad, not at all. I don't know why the media made it worse than it is. I saw Inzaghi miss those casually, and not to forget Vieri. But Solari isn't cut some slack. And I agree with Catanha, Wome wasn't supplying him with anything. Wome is good, but not Inter standard.

Matrix was MOM, God bless you man, and I hope you improve more and more and leave the extra baggage behind.

We needed a player like him yesterday, Rangers were playing physical and borderline-vicious, but him and Samuel strightened those guys around.

I finally saw the highlights:

we all know that wasn't the offside on martins for first disallowed goal
solari miss was clumsy, he wanted to get one step more but didn't made it, but the miss isn't that bad like all of you are talking
seams like martins and figo had great game

Yes, I just saw the Solari's miss. It actually wasn't as bas as some of you described - and imagine if he actually kicked the ball and hit the post, you guys wouldn't blame him so hard (but the outcome would be the same)

I've seen worse miss by even better players, seriously.

Doesn't matter how bad this miss was,
the point is, there was an open net, and Solari failed to put the ball into the back of it.

did anyone see Vieri's miss away to Scotland? Totti played in an exquisite throughball and Vieri, in almost the same situation, used his right foot to kick it wide from an open goal.

GOOD RIDDENCE.

Also, anyone remember Giggs's miss in the FA Cup final? DAMN....... he makes Solari look like a saint.

I m not into english football, so i dont know abt gigg's miss, but yeah vieri did miss a sitter against scotland, But Solari's miss was way too easier, plus solari had more time also, vieri didnt have that much time to think, totti's ball had pace on it. But sating that a player isnt good enlugh, just because he misses a sitter (B/t that was given as the 'miss of the week' in skysports), is not true, On there bad dayplayers like adriano & ronhaldhinio mite miss chances like these. But i have never been a big solri fan anywayz, he can keep on sitting on the bench as far as i m concerend

I never said Solari is a bad player. Nor is Giggs or Vieri.
