Why is Pereira listed as a midfielder?

My theory is Periera was brought in mainly as a Left Mid who can also play fullback.

But really the squad listing isn't something to go by since Coutinho is listed as a forward. again it probably doesn't mean too much

This is how our games against Roma under Zeman looked like :) There was always a bunch of goals, i expect few goals tomorrow also.

We should win this one. Our defensive play might be still shaky, but that Roma doesn't impress me at all. We shouldn't let them control the game, their midfield isn't that great at all. IMO with our lineup, we should be able to control this game, Gargano, Guarin, Cambiasso, Sneijder and Pereira can provide that. Palacio-Milito runs all over the place up front creating havoc and space there. However, we have to be careful with their attack, they have some skilled players there so Rano-Silvestre must have top notch concentration tomorrow. Cambiasso clearly covers Pereira's runs and the defence turns 3-man-defence when Pereira runs up and down his flank.

I would be perhaps slightly disappointed over a draw (though depending how the game goes) but definitely disappointed over a defeat.

I think you are underestimating this match. If i see roma's line up , i agree with you their midfield doesn't look great but Zeman can do magic with young technical players such as Florenzi , Lamela and Pjanic. His fame is not a myth , he IS a good in making his teams an attacking threat for every opponent , but it isn't also a myth the fact that he is weak defensively and this makes me optimist.

I'm sure we will suffer during the 90min their ball control , but in the same time i'm sure we will score at least twice. The only player capable of defence in there is De Rossi , all the other are either too attacking minded or too young to counter our attacking trio . Their only experienced cb is Burdisso and well do i need to say more...

We are favorites but football is unpredictable sometimes. Odds are we will outscore them, but it is still gonna be a tricky fixture.

I think if our midfield plays well we should be able to dominate. I expect Cassano-Sneijder behind Milito to be causing them some problems.

Samir Handanovic was not called up and he has not trained in group ever since his knee surgery a few weeks back. Therefore, Luca Castellazzi is expected to start. The real chest piece of Andrea Stramaccioni is Alvaro Pereira who could already make his Inter debut on Sunday night. “Pereira is fine, he trained with us during the week and he is ready,” said the Inter coach. The Uruguayan and Nagatomo will be battling out for that starting position on the left side with Zanetti on the opposite wing. Yesterday, Strama used the Japanese as left back but Pereira could be used in the midfield immediately at the start or during the game to give Cambiasso a breather (has played all 90 minutes in five matches so far). The one certain is Ranocchia, with Silvestre as favorite over Samuel for the other starting center back position.

There is one doubt in the attack however. Will Strama choose Palacio or Cassano? Yesterday, next to Milito was the Bari born player (Cassano) but Strama did not need to test the duo of Milito and Palacio for their understanding with one another. We are leaning towards Cassano because Palacio played for all 90 minutes on Thursday while Cassano was sacrificed after the red of Castellazzi.

Can't wait, our first real test in Serie A. Win-lose or draw I just want to see indicators.

It is going to be a very interesting game and first real tough game. Would fell much safer if we'd have Samir back. Can't wait!

This game is going to be very hard for us noting that we played our last game against Vasloui with 10 players! However, I believe in Strama's choices and I hope we can make this game easy. my prediction for this game is a 3-2 score for Inter scored by Milito, and 2 by Palacio.

Zeman seems to have a lot of character in Rome plus his attacking formation.

I believe in our counter attacks since we have Guaro

Best of luck to Inter!

Though Palcio and Milito do have 43 goals between them last season, I think the right move might be to go with Cassano (assuming everyone's fit).
With Roma playing possibly the highest defensive line in the league we need the players who know how to send in those perfect through balls that can catch them off guard.

Palacio's seems to be in better condition than Cassano, I think he'll get the nod.

Palacio played the full match in the last game, had been running across the pitch and did a lot of work.
Cassano only played 34 mins in the last game, but still his condition is worse than Palacio?
Oh, can he keep the condition to play for a whole season for us? I am a little bit worried..
