Cordoba Vs Villa

Maicon Vs Vicente :mute:

Personally I say play Burdisso as a full back.

With Dacourt back from his injury, Cambiasso back to his form and Vieira not getting a red card in the home match, I think Zanetti should play as a full back. ;)

Unless if Grosso will still suck and Max not ready, then Zanetti and Burdisso as full backs.

'This Grosso' Vs Joaquin, doesn't sound good. :undecide: I just hope that Maxwell will get his match fitness in 5-6 weeks, because he'll be the perfect player to face Joaquin, not the slow Grosso.

hello I am an valencian supporter, i think is will be a fantastic match with two very well teams...
I think valencia can play with this team;

-------------Cañizares--------------
Miguel---Ayala----Albiol------Moretti
Joaquin----Baraja---Albelda---Vicente
--------Villa-----Silva/Morientes----

David Silva is our new crak, with only 20 years is spectacular this player, more bettre than pablo aimar

btw. apart of the injuries, Valencia also have internal problems, mainly between coach Quique Flores and manager Carboni. So even if the injured players come back, this rift might hurt them.

They are a quality team no doubt, although IMO they lost a lot of quality by selling Aimar. But Inter should be able to beat them, even if they have a bad game in one leg.

i guess morett is out until march.... and del horno i don't really know, i rate del horno as the best spanish LB, but before he get injured, now i don't really know if he will be at the same level.

Valencia is a great team.. But, we are better. This is another hard match, but we can get past it 90%... We are good in games with Valencia too, remember those 5-1?? :D

Well, this match will be a crack to watch because of the very cautious approach o each team will have, especially because this will be played in Mestalla first, Valencia I bet still remember that in our last 4 meetings we had the upper hand, 2 of the matches that we played in Mestalla ended in us winning, Crespo or Vieri, then Vieri, Adri, Van Der Meyde, Deki, and Cruz, the match will be very nice, and we could finish it in Mestalla as we did the last 2 times, just we need to focus.
The return match in GM will be also be veryt important, I think that we will win both legs, or at least tie in one, butwill not lose in any of the matches, but only if we play as a men and not as wossies like against Viallareal match

No, I think the first leg will be at San Siro and the return leg will be in Valencia. So we will need a comfortable win at home to put some pressure on Valencia. Anyway if we can keep our current form i have no doubt that we will make it to the quarter finals...

First leg is in Milano. As it has already been said here I think that it is far too important for us not concede at home so we end up going out Villarreal style again.

From .it:

NYON - Inter will play against Valencia in the first knockout round of the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League. The first leg at the Estadio Mestalla will be played on Wednesday 21 February, with the return leg at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to take place on Tuesday 6 March.

Round of sixteen draw:
Porto v Chelsea
Celtic v AC Milan
PSV Eindhoven v Arsenal
Lille v Manchester United
Roma v Lyon
Barcelona v Liverpool
Real Madrid v Bayern Munich
Inter v Valencia

I guess they qrote it wrong, because they wrote our name first and not Valencia's :wallbang::wallbang::wallbang::

A few things, no matter how good Grosso becomes by then (I have faith he will be a great player for us still), Javier Zanetti has to play left back, there is no way we can let Grosso play left back with Vicente and Miguel coming at him, especially since Grosso is such a attacking full back, Miguel and Vicente will make us pay, if Vicente is injured (which he most likely will be  ) they still have David Silva, who is just as good as Vicente.

Maicon has to play right back, I think he can handle Joaquin who is easily the most inconsistent player in both teams (Adriano doesn't count) and hopefully Del Horno will be injured as well then its another bonus. Materazzi and/or Samuel can handle Morientes (btw @ the San Siro they will play one striker) but I honestly doubt that Cordoba can take on Villa, he has the pace obviously, but technically I can see Cordoba being made a fool out of, @ the San Siro Materazzi can help him out but at the Mestalla, the only defender we have who can take care of Villa (in terms of attributes) is Burdisso.

I don't know what tactic we should play, do we play with wingers and try and take advantage of Valencia's attacking full backs and wingers but then we lose steel to Albelda, Baraja or Edu or do we play 4-3-1-2 which would mean central dominance with Vieira, Dacourt and Cambiasso as the three central midfielders.

Also, I consider Ibra the most important player in this tie, Crespo vs Ayala will be one for the ages, a massive battle, neither will win easily but Ibra has to take care of Raul Albiol who is a very good defender, improving everyday but Ibra can take care of him and MUST take care of him.

Out of all the ties, this is going to be the most tactical, hopefully Mancini will get it right.

I really can't see much into this game. We can lose to Lille at home or beat Barca at their home, so...

But this game wil be us vs the efficiency of the Valencia treating room. Valencia has the best starting 11 in Europe, not in Spain, but Europe. They can b-slap any team with their starting 11. It really depends on how many of them face us.

Crespo vs Ayala :star: In a perfect and fair world, I would have a front seat for this match-up

if you put recoba on albelda and baraj will just gobble him up and completley negate him from the game. in fact ANY central attacking midfielders for inter will be negated by baraja and albelda.
Inters best bet is to play with cambiasso and viera, and use the wings.

Valencia attacks thru wings and the center...you will need cabi and viera to block out silva who will play att playmaker.
