I would question anyone's sanity who says that first goal was Ranocchia's fault.

Either you didn't watch the match and just want to whine or you are just insane.

That goal was Mancini and JJ's fault.

First Mancini, because he played slow ass Campagnaro on the right who couldn't keep up with De Bruyne, making Ranocchia to go after De Bruyne. If Mancini had played a proper RB there instead of useless Campagnaro, the RB could've kept up with De Bruyne and Ranocchia would've not been forced to go out of position. I think even Mancini himself realised his mistake, but too late, and that's why he subbed off Camp for D'Ambrosio.

If D'Ambrosio started from the beginning, probably there would've been not a cross for Caligiuri to tap in.

What pissed me even more is that Camp after losing De Bruyne decided to slow down and just jog around as if nothing happened!

Second, JJ!
When De Bruyne got the ball and started to run down the left flank JJ was miles ahead of Caligiuri, but then somehow he decides to just slow down and jog around letting Caligiuri to pass him and easily tap the ball in.

And to the people who say JJ was supposed to mark Dost not Caligiuri I would say

I'm sorry but that really is funny and idiotic! lol

First of all, go watch the match again. JJ wasn't marking anyone. He was just jogging around and looking at what was happening between Rano and De Bruyne. He did not look at any Wolfsburg players until Caligiuri was about to pass him. He started to run to catch him but he couldn't.

JJ was supposed to mark Dost? hahaha.. That's just completely pulled out of your ass and I tell you why:

First, how do you know JJ's the one who was supposed to mark Dost?
Second, so What are you saying here? JJ was supposed to mark Dost only? even let's say if Dost was next to his goal, JJ should go and stay next to him? lol
Third, Rano was correcting Campa's mistake and it was JJ's job to cover for Rano.
Forth, De Bruyne was running down the left flank, Rano was pressuring him and it is the job of the defender in the middle to run back and be level with De Bruyne just in case he crossed!! That's defending 101 for god sakes!! (but ironically you believe JJ must've stayed up with Dost ).

So the lesson today is, we are back to man marking! Doesn't matter where the man is, you have to stay with him and not bother about anything else

I honestly don't know why I am even trying hahaha

Campa and Frog are slow asses
JJ has no brain and sense of positioning
Santon is a headless chicken who can't position

Santon is supposed to follow him until he's offside, which is perfectly reasonable. If Caligiuri keeps going, he just lets him go, no harm done.

Tried to find some sources on this online "In the game situation the diagonal run from a winger forces the opposition fullback to make a decision. If the defender goes with the run of the winger then [their] fullback will be free to receive the ball. If the opposition fullback does not go with the winger's diagonal run then he may be free to receive the through ball from the run in behind the centre back".

That's exactly what happened. They had no players on the overlap. All Santon had to do was chase him until offside. You honestly can't expect Juan to mark 2 people at once AND watch the ball/action.

Wth chase him until he offside.. Lol
And damn it, Juan didn't mark Dost either since Dost wasn't on the pen area, and Juan didn't even paying attention to Dost...

Guys, we lost, its over.

Then stop coming to this thread, where else are we going to analyze what happened?

It is hard to add new defenders and make them play amazingly from day one, but defence is not the only problem. This team could score more goals with a better midfield. The m
whole team suffers when you have an incosistent midfield.

Schurrle said that Inter isn't a bad team individually but they looked scared/intimidated and you wouldn't expect such things from such a big team.
He said that you would expect more mental toughness...

Time to grow some balls then... :yao:

Lol and yet he got subbed at halftime in the 1st leg never to be seen again. I would expect more mental toughness from a world champion.
