I would play 4-3-3 with Cassano-Balotelli/Immobile-Cerci.
4-3-1-2 doesn't make too much sense when you don't have an AM.

Verratti actually played as an AM throughout youth level, so Prandelli might have realized he's still good for this role in training or through observation.

Just saying, not that I think Verratti should be an AM, especially when he hasn't played such role in senior level.

That comment was before the game. Candreva was great, but Cerci was far better than Candreva during the season. However, Candreva has always played well for Italy.

I think De Sciglio will solve the problem. Chiellini sucks at LB due to his lack of mobility. Moving him back inside and removing the deadwood Paletta is an instant improvement even if De Sciglio isn't exactly world class.
