I want inter to win the league... But there is a big part of me thinking that we don't deserve it after coming bottom of a cl group below shaktar. Feels like we have no right.

If win the scudetto, then we deserve it. A football team can always learn, change tactics and improve.

"We don't deserve"? I don't get that logic. So Lazio, Atalanta and Rube all deserve to win scudetto cuz they qualified? lmao.

Conte sucks ass in Europe, that's an established fact. But he is known to deliver domestically. He is a tactical dunce and his only shtick is to get his players to work at 150% for 90+ minutes. If we win the league based on that only, there is nothing "undeserving" about it.

In 2017-'18, we only played in Serie A and the Coppa that season. No CL, no EL. The 38 domestic games + Pordenone and Milan in the Coppa was the extent of our schedule.

That same season, Lazio played 38 Serie A games, played four games in the Coppa, and made it to the quarters of the EL, which was another 12 games in total. 38 + 4 + 12 = 54 games. Fourteen more than we played.

I don't think anyone here - or Inter fans in general - felt that us pipping Lazio in the final game of the season for the last CL spot was cheapened by having played 14 fewer games than they did. Would we all rather this team be able to make a deep run on all three fronts? Of course. But the reality then and the reality now are what they are. We make the best of them as we can, hopefully. We haven't won a trophy in 10 years, so we have no right to complain about how we win one, as long as we do win one again one of these days (unless we bribe the officials or some shit, but I'll save those shenanigans for some other clubs...).

I don't know about is it bad when Milan wins this winter champions but what I know is that it would be pretty bad for Inter if they had won it.

Usually when they start talking about scudetto then thats the moment when the team totally collapse. So maybe it was only good that Milan takes the first spot now and get the articles about winning the scudetto.

This is not even close to winter championship. This was a matchday 14. We have 5 matches before some team is a winter champion.

And we're not worthy Scudetto contenders if we are afraid to be winter champions or afraid to talk about Scudetto. Now is the time to grow up and talk like adults. The "usually" stuff is thing of a past, or should be. If it's not, we're not gonna win anything.

Milan is flying sky high because their self-confidence as a team is sky high. We need to have that same attitude and confidence and it feels we have found the right system to get the attitude and confidence.

They may have small depth but they're maximalizing it. They never put the same line-up for every match. We have depth but we didn't even use it as Il Drago mentioned.

How to reconciliated wanting Conte to rotate his players selection & complaining when he played Darmian, Kolarov, Gaga, DdA etc?

Thats partly because we have been ridiculously unlucky with injuries

I think we have played our strongest starting eleven only once this season.

But Pioli is also not afraid to trust youth. For example he is playing Kalulu ahead of the likes of Duarte and Musacchio despite them being fit. He has already given time to Colombo and Daniel Maldini et all. And he hasnt been afraid to make quick subs to change the game up.

I'm just glad that the young players who were given a chance have seized the opportunity. Even if we do not win the Scudetto this season (still a lobg way to go) and qualify for the CL, it will still be a massive success. Considering the management have themselves come out and said that they did not build the squad expecting CL this season.

Huh ? I don't mind if Damian starting when Hakimi getting tired or injured also Kolarov if he plays in his natural position. And who tf is Gaga ?

I saw on some Facebook page that the referee from Gobbi - Fiorentina game has been suspended for the next few rounds due to "poor decisions". What the fuck? Is this true?

People are talking about Milan as if they have only just turned good... Milan have been the best team in Italy for 12 months now. Forget winter champions, Milan are "calendar year" champions, which is luckily as useless an achievement.

Milan have invested serious money on their team. Over the last 5-6 years, Milan's net spend on transfers has been higher than Inter's or even Juve's. Since Maldini came over, they have been building a serious project based on young talent, only fucking up on the coaching decisions. Now with a half decent coach in Pioli and specially since Ibra came over and filled their leadership vacuum, they have been seriously good for a year. This isn't a flash in the pan. Milan are developing back to a big club.

I suspect (or hope) they are about 1 year behind us in their growth. Hopefully they will drop points at some stage this season. It will be tragic if Milan overtook us this season.

On the other hand, its good to see Italian football has finally got its 3 big clubs back.

You cannot be serious? How many of their big investments are still there? They made smart moves over the last 2 years but non of them was a really big investment and pretty sure we outspent them. Last two seasons their biggest transfer is 24 mio kessie....
Since you talk about 5 years before that they signed piatek/paqueta/ Bonnuci silva all for 30 mio or more guess what not a single one of them is still there.
To take a time frame of 5-6 years and say milan invested well just seems utterly dumb and missleading. Cause the last two years were mostly good/ grat signings for cheap Kessie being the most expensive fix transfere at 24 mio. The 4/3 years before that though thy spent a lot of money on absolute shiiiite players...
Yes technically your right they outspent us but again it really does not prove the point your trying to make. Even more so if you bitch that conte did not get the necessary backing and thats why we can't be expected to win scudo. Pioli on the other hand who inherited a way weaker Milan then what conte inherited at Inter and got way less investments from the club to back him, he certainly should be capable to win the lrague cause we re all underestimating how great bbilan did in the transfer market and how much money they spent. Even though most of the players they spent big on in the last 5 years are not in the current squad.

Also fuck having the 3 big italin clubs back Serie A would be way better of without jube.......

Chill bro. You are misinterpreting the point I am trying to make, and getting worked up for no reason. All I am saying is that Milan have been good for 12 months now, and that they have been serious about investing into the club for a while.

Milan hasn't been good for 12 months. They have been good since June, since the game is played behind the closed door.

The results of the "new" Milan in 2020, before the stands were closed:

One loss, and it was in the derby of two halves.

Draws against Verona(with a decimated team),
Juve(they equalized through a cheap penalty in the final minutes after being dominated for 70 mins)
and Fiorentina(another late equalizer through a cheap PK. This was also the game with the disallowed Ibra solo goal which was so ridiculous it lead to a change in the handball rule)

It's not as good or convincing as the post-break results, but the team tops the table for the 2020 calendar year even if you ignore this season's results.

Didn't realize how close behind us Roma are. Fixture next week is a critical one.

Let's hope that Benevento can repeat that magic against Milan from two seasons ago today.

Juve vs Milan @2:45p Eastern on ESPN2 in the US, a zero zero draw will do after Inter's win earlier in the day.
