I just don't see the problem... why does sneijder have to be pushed that far up? isn't pandev, milito and Eto enough of an attack threat up front? Sneijder will be the main link and will sit a fair bit in front of the DMF's, almost on line with pandev and Eto, just a little further back

because thats how we play

if you look at our games in the CL knockouts you can see that eto'o and pandev are closer to the halfway line than the goal, while sneijder is wandering just outside the penalty box just behind milito

I still dunno how both Mascherano and Cambiasso are gonna get the ball to our forwards considering that their passing isn't that good, if we sign Mascherano we'll face the same problems of last season where Sneijder has to track back to our own half just to make something happen...

That's how it was setup under mou. Till we see rafa's side play we won't know how he plans to setup the side.

it might be too early to talk about formations but as of right now, that IS how we play

i wasn't comparing the players because inter are clearly miles ahead but juve's squad is top 3 material and they finished SEVENTH

inter's squad already has a problem with creativity so why do you think that giving the players more freedom would mean that the players no longer have to hold back in the creative department?

it's not that they've been "holding back in the creative department" it's that because mostly no matter who it's against i wouldn't call us a team who dominate the other teams in our possession play. and because of that it means the players have to defend more. even against far weaker teams we often ended up with 9 men behind the ball for notable durations of the games. and when they have to defend more it means they have to stick to their defensive positions more rigidly. when you do that you have a bit less freedom to be creative and take risks and be an impact in the attacking area because you have other things to do (defend). there's only so much Sneijder can do with the ball when he's in his own half and Milito is up top with 3 defenders. with masch and camb i hope we'll see that kind of situation less

i think it'll be a combination of Zanetti, Maicon and Sneijder... and ofc with Camb and Masch's input too, they're not great passes and can't be relied on for it but it's not like they're useless at it. i think all those players have enough in them to distribute to Pandev, Eto and Milito

Inter striker Diego Milito has said that he is confident of the arrival of fellow Argentine Javier Mascherano to the blue-and-black half of Milan.
The Liverpool midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Italian and European champions and Reds manager Roy Hodgson admitted last week that Mascherano wasn't picking up his calls.
Inter striker Diego Milito, who helped the Nerazzurri win the Champions League last season, has supported the move of Mascherano from Anfield to the San Siro.
"We are very excited about Mascherano joining us at Inter," the former Genoa forward is quoted as saying in the Daily Star Sunday.
"He has made it clear he wants to be here and it's just down to the relevant people agreeing the deal now.
"In my view we are getting the very best defensive midfield player in the world and Maradona calls him one of the three most important players in the Argentina squad along with Lionel Messi and (Carlos) Tevez. That's how highly he is regarded."
Milito continued, "I think it's unrealistic of Liverpool to think they can keep hold of Mascherano when they can't even offer Champions League football and are not challenging Manchester United and Chelsea for the Premier League title.
"The boss and Mascherano have a good friendship so there were no other clubs on the cards for him after that, including Barcelona. He has wanted to join for a while but when the boss joined Inter I think that sealed the deal.
"Rafa has already made it clear that he wants another season like Jose had with us last season. Javier is a natural-born winner.
"He'll relish being at a club where he will win top honours.
"I think it will be hard for Liverpool to hold on to the top players, including (Steven) Gerrard and (Fernando) Torres, but that is not my concern."
The Argentine international also said that he would love to play alongside compatriot Carlos Tevez at Inter, but admitted that it is unlikely to happen this summer.
"I would like Tevez to join us as well but I don't think that will be possible this summer.
"Manchester City are in a position where they don't have to sell, but Carlos has told me he would like to play in Italy in the future."

for inter to give up: 20 millions and muntari > 20 millions, if we can get rid of muntari wage then even better news.

Exactly, why would we not push Sneijder into his natural role, the one he plays for Inter and Holland, where he won the silver ball at the world cup?

Ideally our wide forwards won't always be pushed so far back, but those were the tactics of that particular game; more attacking gameplans will see the wide forwards playing almost on the same line as Milito.
