Fair enough Ali but we're talking RM...These issues might work at other clubs but they do not at RM...And Valdano is not some peon or random name...He's a club legend that played a huge rule in their resurgence in the 90s...Legend really and even I have a ton of respect for him as a culé
Jorge Valdano, the same man who has previously & publicly described Mou’s football as ‘shit on a stick’...Then the game that Mou decided to play in December to try and circumvent Valdano and make his transfer plea directly with Perez...He did it through the media in a clear sign of disrespect to Valdano...Valdano then returns the favor after the Almeria match wondering why he needed a #9 when he left Benzema on the bench...There's a rift and at any club that is destabilizing but at RM where a club legend is involved, it won't matter that the other is Mourinho
And let’s not forget the showboating in front of Villarreal’s bench where he made the ridiculous claim that he was cheering with his son
…Pure classlessness
Mourinho’s problems started in the Copa del Rey…With RM cruising to a 5-1 home win over Real Murcia, the RM coach told the referee the Spanish equivalent of go fuck yourself…For that misdemeanor, the Real coach received a one game touchline ban…Mourinho’s response was to complain, stating,
there’s one rule for me and one rule for everyone else. (A refrain that he has sung over & over for many years)
The fight with the referees intensified in December when a ten man RM narrowly beat Sevilla 1-0 in the Bernabéu…After the game, Mourinho came to the press conference and read out a list of 13 refereeing errors he said took place during the match…The list included errors related to offsides, fouls and even the amount of stoppage time played
…Despite this never happening in world football (Name an occasion where a manager came out with a list of refereeing 'errors'), Mou conveniently never seems to produce his own laundry list of refereeing ‘errors’ that favor his club….Surely, more of t
here’s one rule for me and one rule for everyone else. :rollani:
Unai Emery, Valencia manager responded:
“Mourinho’s stance is that of a crybaby. We have reasons to draw up a list with errors and to make a public complaint for every time we have been adversely affected, but we don’t.”
In Spain, the RFEF have responded with sarcasm...In an article that previewed RM’s upcoming cup game against Atlético Madrid, the RFEF website stated Turienzo Álvarez would referee the match
under the watchful eye of Mourinho.
Gijon manager Preciado’s rage after being accused of throwing the match with Barca:
"Who the *#&$£ does he think he is to say things like that? Who does he think he is to say that about a team like us: a humble side that fights to the very last to stay in the top flight? Well, we might be poor but we're not idiots. He is a bad colleague, egotistical. He is a canalla (Roughly, a scumbag)"
In 2007 Sir Alex Ferguson said,
"He's come out with stuff about referees and I think he is the last person who should ever talk about referees, goodness me. His clubs have been involved in so many things about referees over the years. I think Jose should button his lip now for good, for the rest of the season."
In 2007, CR when asked about Mourinho’s complaints:
"He always has to say something because he can't admit his failures. The whole world knows how Mourinho is...he never recognises he is wrong."
Milan manager Massimo Allegri:
"He sets a bad example and insulted everybody in Italy. He was here for two years and insulted everybody."
Early into his stint with Inter he ridiculed Catania saying his side's win was so easy that even he could have played in goal and they would have won…Catania director Pietro Lo Monaco hit back saying,
"Mourinho is, plain and simple, the kind of guy who should get smashed in the teeth."
Of course, then there’s Frisk and his ‘retirement’ from the game due to death threats that were spurred by Mou’s nonsensical claims… UEFA referees' committee chairman Volker Roth was appalled with Mourinho's behaviour and lashed;
"We can't accept that one of our best referees has been forced to quit because of this. People like Mourinho are the enemy of football."
Respect...Mou does not seem to value this principle and even if I despise RM, I know their image means everything to them...It has been an embarrassing ride for them in only 6 months despite mostly winning...That incident of running around at the Camp Nou?...Perez et al would never allow Mou to pull an act like that
RM invested almost €100m (£82m) in paying off Pellegrini and signing Mourinho and his staff...I'd say, so far, their return on their investment has not been great...Should he bolt in the summer, apart from conceding defeat to Barca, that will also seal Perez' fate as well
