Again, I feel like the criticism against Lukaku is over the top. He was fantastic at his hold up play and releasing Lautaro - they clearly are developing a good chemistry with one another. There were very few balls played deep to him that he was not able to control while shielding the defender, not sure there's another big forward in Europe who has the speed, strength & size to consistently do that

If you had to choose between the two, who would you bring to Barcelona?

The problem is that the two chances he had of both qualifying Inter and cancelling all the noise about him not being good in big games, he bottled them. I'm pretty sure no one said that he was bad in his hold up play , but looking at how Lautaro manages to use his body comapred to him while being a lot smaller and less strong , I personnally can't help but feel like he could do better.

This is football, I find it utterly unrealistic to expect every striker to be 100% clinical - not even Messi converts at that rate. You should be impressed by the ability to get yourself into a position to score the way Lukaku did - the United & Everton player was often drifting in obscurity. The Belgian, last night however, was a focal point if not fulcrum for one attack after another. Brutal from your own fans to pan him, IMHO

You don't need to be clinical in order to score what he missed yesterday, imho.

It doesn't even depend if the GK is Neuer or freaking Dragoswki, just compose yourself and put the ball in the net instead of shooting on Neto, idk. If Esposito missed that people would complain that he is not mature enough for the first team, it's not normal to accept that from a player who is a proven goal scorer.
We're not even on his thread anyway lol

Yet again showed why we need to remove that release clause, he’s just a pest to other teams and his ability to simply fight for every ball is great. Loved watching his performance yesterday.

lol you do this everytime, blaming the ref. the ref had nothing to do with this. We had our chances, should've played better.

Definitely Lautaro but that's more down to the fact that Lukaku wouldn't fit our system of play - I think he's a great support striker, effectively in the role he has. I have long liked Lukaku and all you have to do is appreciate the difference between this version of him and the one at United. Be patient and hope that Lautaro is indeed remaining for several years

I had been on the fence about Lautaro tbh, hadn't really focused much on him despite the hype but I watched him closely last night and left very impressed if not convinced that he is an excellent option for my club. I go back to when Suarez was first linked to Barcelona while starting out at Ajax, I watched a little of him and saw potential but a far cry from the player he became. I do not know if Lautaro will enjoy a similar trajectory but the potential is absolutely there, what happens next depends on the player

Lautaro has amazing moves. The way he can stop the ball, shot, holding the ball.. he's really special. this guy could get good as someone like Messi if he keeps improving in this direction, im not even jocking.

500m release clause and double the wages. We fucking have to keep this player for the next decade.

- - - Updated - - -

Also everyone thought Lautaro will be the SS (#10) and Lukaku the CF (#9). While those are their numbers, their roles on the pitch have been reversed.

As FCBarca also pointed out, Lukaku is the supporting striker who is more about creating chances and Lautaro is the one to hold up the ball and more clinical.

Nobody will ever be at Messi's level, but Lautaro can become one of the best on the planet, similar to Aguero but in my opinion can be even better as long as he stays healthy. His work ethic and agility is amazing, never gives up or puts his head down til the end.

You want him to renew with a higher release clause/ no release clause...?

Seemingly needs no explanation but if you insist, it's fairly clear. Our top winter signing would be ensuring his renewal at Inter doesn't happen or mitigated by a reasonable buyout should the player desire a move to Barcelona

Seems pretty clear the club prioritize him and his play against us has certainly left few doubts, if any. He's been the object of desire from Spanish clubs in the past so I suspect it'll be more a question of what the player wants

Perhaps Barca like him, even so, they seem to have an unlimited amount of options for goal-scoring even with Messi out and Suarez allegedly declining. I dont think they'll be pushed into paying anything more than they're comfortable with. Barca had 3 chances yesterday and capitalized on 2 of them, while we had 6 and capitalized once. Whether Lautaro stays or goes, he has full control of his destiny.
