I check Spanish media often because of Vidal and there's nothing final about Messi's future and there's certainly not a deal with Man City. There are even rumours from Argentina that the most likelt scenario is Messi staying at Barcelona for one more season and leave for free next summer.

I see two scenarios.

1. What Il Drago just told. Messi collects 50m€ net salary + 70m€ loyalty bonus after the contract ends. Walks free after the season. Bad for Barcelona. Maybe good for their president to not lose his face (kept Messi and Messi does not come out publicly to tell he stays so Bartomeu doesn't have to resign to keep his word)

2. Messi "stays", which effectively forces Barcelona to sell him for over 100m€ transfer fee. They save 100m€ gross salary payment + 70m€ loyalty bonus (I guess it's almost 140m€ gross then) + gets the transfer fee and can re-build the squad. Good for Barcelona. Maybe bad for their president since he was the one who sold Messi in the history books, but on the other hand, it's a start of a new era with good amount of money to be used.
