In addition Conte's choice of players is very questionable. He sold Matic and replace him with DrinkColdWater which was a downgrade. He also wanted Candreva there. Morata was epic 70m failure. Plus we've finally found some stability in 4-2-3-1. I don't want to start from the scratch again especially with 3-5-2.

Well gotta give it to Conte that he wanted Lukaku from the beginning but Chelsea's lousy management didn't pull the trigger. Morata was just a panic buy after Man Utd got Lukaku. That's not on Conte. Don't know about others.

But stability is the thing with Spalletti. He got us to concede so much less goals than previous seasons. He fixed our defence (Skriniar was great but it's not like his presence alone just made our defence so much better). Don't want to break that. We should think about changing coach next time when we've stopped progressing. Like happened with Mancini after few Scudetti and no CL success => insert Mourinho.

With Spalletti, we are just at the beginning.

Spalletti has done his bit. Now its up to Don Ausilio and Suning. If they invest big and well as is required, I am sure Spalletti can take Inter into the next level.

PS: Good to see no one at FIF screaming about sacking the coach this summer. It will be a first in a long, long time. We need more of these.

FIF is more sane than you think, tbh it's natural people are in support for a coach who is competent. These people deserve more credit than the likes of superior intelligent beings like yourself and JJM give them.

We are not talking about Mancini here after all. Any average human with an above average IQ would be supportive of Spaletti staying, who has achieved not just a decent result, but a decent build up play with minimal acquisition this summer.

Not Spalletti's fault that he coaches a bunch of bottlers, the fact that he brought them back to life and changed our approach is enough to let him stay.

How much he deserves the reputation is debatable but Spalletti himself is a bit of a known bottler. Maybe he needs Conte's wig.

2 things to take out from it:

1) Rafinha and Cancelo cannot be buyed out. So obviously either we manage to renegotiate smh or we suck a bag of dicks and get neither of the two.
2) Spaletti does not plan to sign a new contract with us as of now. Says that the current one has one more year so there's no need to hurry. Kinda good news, gives both him and us more flexibility.

‘Inter can’t sign Rafinha, Cancelo’
By Football Italia staff

Luciano Spalletti confirms Inter can’t take up their options on Rafinha or Joao Cancelo “but we’ll see in the future”.

The pair are on loan from Barcelona and Valencia respectively, and the Nerazzurri can sign them outright before the end of this month.

However, they have to meet their Financial Fair Play targets by June 30, so they cannot spend the money on them now.

“The club has already started to move well, but they need to balance the books which is crucial,” Spalletti explained in today’s Press conference.

“Football has changed, before they gave you a penalty and you couldn’t go back on that, just like before you could spend what you wanted.

“Now we need to abide by the settlement agreement signed by the previous owners, having inherited it we must keep to its criteria and requirements, we need to follow a path to balance the books.

“Once that’s done we can reinvest, but it’s difficult to get big names, like last year.

“That’s not to say they won’t arrive, but everything depends on what we can come up with. Right now Rafinha and Cancelo can’t be signed outright, even if they did very well for Inter.

“We’ll see later, but right now we can’t. We took two exceptional players, who gave us strength from a football point of view, and Rafinha from a mental point of view too since he came from a club which always wins.

“Unfortunately this is the way it works.”

Translation: We're going to be fighting for 4th spot with Lazio again next season. Seriously, when in their plans are Inter planning to be a top team again? Just hope by some miracle our players turn world class?

There is still quite a chance to re-sign Rafinha after this fiscal year as 1) he is openly interested in Inter, 2) Barca are more open to negotiation, and 3) not many clubs are after him.
Cancelo, however, could attract some top clubs and we definitely will lose when it comes to bidding war.

Basically 3 starters are coming in (Asamoah,De Vrij + Lautaro Martinez), 1 is surely leaving (Cancelo) but for Rafinha there are still few chances. Icardi could leave if a top club will offer +100 millions €.... so we must expect a lot of movements this summer for sure.

Spalletti: ‘Don’t need a new contract’
By Football Italia staff

Luciano Spalletti surprisingly reveals he hasn’t signed a new contract with Inter - “I still have a year, what’s the rush?”

The Coach held a Press conference this afternoon and was expected to announce that he had signed on until 2021, but it seems talks will have to wait until a later date.

“I have a contract,” Spalletti shrugged when asked about the issue.

“I’m happy at Inter and for me nothing would have changed even without the Champions League.

“The club reiterated yesterday that they want to sign an extension, but it wouldn’t have changed anything for me even if they’d said differently: it takes certain characteristics and qualities to sign a contract.

“For Interisti it’s like you’re signing on the future of Inter, and when you’re here you realise the responsibility that comes with that.

“You can’t just sign it to get two extra years of salary, because what if you don’t get the results, or that negative period we had earlier this season had continued for another two games? What do you do with the contract then?

“It’s just to create tension and make noise, I have a contract until next year - what’s the rush?”

Spalletti was also asked about the future of Mauro Icardi, who has a €110m release clause in his contract.

“It depends what he wants, keeping those who don’t want to stay is difficult. That’s not the case with him, but I can’t sit here and tell you he won’t make a request, it depends what happens on the transfer market.

“A professional can consider a different experience. Clearly if important players leave it reduces your chances to grow, if other important players don’t arrive.

rafinha i think we still can renegotiate with barca since he himself wanted the move and barcelona themselves do not have place for rafinha in theior current setup.

cancelo i think a gone case as he do have many admirers and valencia will simply sell him to any highest bidder. i'm not suprised if cancelo signs for an epl team next season.

i still felt that it is best that we raid real madrid for marcos llorente as our alternative DM and dani ceballos as alternative for rafinha in a loan to buy deal. even a simple loan will strengthen spalleti team core with these two good technical young players

And now the real reason for this press conference:

Spalletti: 'Inter promises not kept'
By Football Italia staff

Luciano Spalletti admits he “lied” to fans last season, as Inter did not give him the players he wanted. “Promises were made and not kept. We can’t take fans for a ride.”

This could be a hint as to why the Coach was expected to announce a contract extension today, yet didn’t do that during a lengthy Press conference.

“I have to be careful how I say this so as not to create problems,” noted Spalletti.

“The club has to watch out for these Financial Fair Play parameters and then we’ll see what the objectives are. What happened last year is that certain promises were made and not kept.

“Now we begin again, but those who talk about a Scudetto push ought to take that into account.

“If the club provided me with a squad that was not suited to the target, then I’d come here and tell you the truth. I wouldn’t do like last year. Last year, I did not tell the truth. This year we are both happy to work together and go forward.

“People said we had to go into the Champions League, but we sold eight players and brought in six. We made a ham-fisted reshuffle, without precise choices. Then at a certain point, we said enough.

“Nobody made the decision, but there were changes that meant I could say that I no longer accepted the need to get into the Champions League.

“I was a reference point and couldn’t start criticising the place I worked in, so I just kept going. We had to make up a 20-point gap from the leaders, which might’ve seemed like a failure to you, but not for us.

“At the start, I said the target was the Champions League because we hadn’t had the summer transfer market yet. There was €150m to spend on the market, so we were told. That wasn’t the case. So I said things based on what I was told.

“The players did very well to get us into the top four, even when struggling to cover the gaps. As I said, if you want to talk about winning the Scudetto, you need a transfer market worthy of the club that wins it, otherwise it’ll be difficult.

“Our aspiration is to give the greatest satisfaction to our fans, but in this project there is a certain timeframe that goes beyond next season, because otherwise we start taking fans for a ride and it’s not fair. The fans must be protected, just as they protected us during difficult times.”

Spalletti:”Dal 1 luglio possiamo investire, non nomi altisonanti ma faremo quello che ci serve”

From 1 July we can invest, nit with names of the highest order but we will do what needs to be done with players we need...

Also,I still don't like Suning, never really will as they are liars who don't keep their word, us in CL is on Spallo's magical work and stupid Suning fucked him over, they can now suck his dick and if they don't give him what he needs now... Fuckers trolling us fans, taking us for a ride with Inter is Cummings bullcrap, yeah Spallo under pressure from retarded fans thinking it's his fault when we lose to a Sassuolo 2x when our depth is pathetic because of Chinese liars!

I think we have fair chance to get Rafinha later in the summer because no one will pay 35-40 mln for him. In addition there is WC and definitely some players will raise there and attract attention. Plus Barca also want to get rid of him and without suitors will decrease their demands.

Cancelo from other hand most probably is out of reach.

My God, they are subject to a voluntary agreement which the former ownership agreed to, what do you want them to do? Ignore UEFA and end up like Milan?

And now the real reason for this press conference:

Spallo just pulled off the Benitez except the former backed up this backhanded threat with UCL spot with paper-thin squad. If this rant could wake up our mercato team and Suning, we Interisti are 100 % behind you.
