Dude,

Imagine someone who dribbles past several defenders in tight spaces like Maradona, Messi or Baggio.
Imagine someone with Ronaldinho's driblling skills.
Imagine someone with Totti's first touch.
Imagine someone with Romario's off the ball movement.
Imagine someone with Cristiano's first step explosiveness.

Now imagine all that in one person, running the show at Mbappe speed levels...

And then tell me with a straight face that he's not the video game character. Because this was Ronaldo at his peak.

Now imagine doing all of that in the best, most tactical, most defensive with the tightest spaces, toughest and most competitive league in the world where you had to face the best defenders and goalkeepers in history and compete with the best forwards and midfielders.

I would probably have a hard time finding someone who's both a football and hockey fan who watched both guys play, but I get heavy Mario Lemieux vibes when the topic of R9 comes up. Statistically, he's one of the greatest players ever despite the fact that his career is littered with "what if's" wrought by injuries. Traits-wise, he's very likely the most skilled player to ever play the game. (In this vein, I imagine Messi would be the equivalent of Gretzky, especially because I can see the cerebral aspects in both their games as well.)

I mean he did it all! I remember when I was telling myself that all that’s missing from R9 was for him to be a good free kick scorer and score goals with his head. And then in the space of a couple of games he did both beautifully and I was like that’s it: he’s the greatest striker I’ve ever seen.

Can we have another vote on this bloke? I think he deserves it. I don't think he ever wanted to leave. Milan was a proxy.

He claimed that he tried to return to Inter but Moratti refused, as a result joined Milan instead.

Fitzy, I have never seen a LGI vote revisited. Christian Vieri should have another vote: the guy is always at our games and is still an Interista. Both players are modern day greats and very much a part of our history.

Why Ronaldo left Barcelona to join Inter

In a recent chat with his former Brazil teammate Romario on his YouTube channel, Ronaldo confirmed the widespread rumours that he left Barcelona because of a disagreement over his contract.

He also noted that several of his compatriots, including Neymar and Ronaldinho, had also experienced similar situations towards the end of their time with Barca.

“Barcelona and the Brazilians have always left each other on bad terms,” Ronaldo said.

“I’d had a spectacular season and agreed to renew my contract, but five days later they told me that it was not possible to continue and they transferred me to Inter.

“It was a real punch in the stomach. I loved the city.”

He continued: “Rivaldo left because of an argument, Ronaldinho and Neymar as well. Look at the history Barcelona has created with so many successful Brazilians, but in the end the relationship deteriorates and ends very badly.”
I know there are many Ronnie fans here so thought you might want to know this

Intentionally or not, he's helping Real in their off field competition with Barca for Brazilian talents.

Ronaldo reveals his party animal lifestyle was nothing compared to his teammate at San Siro, fellow Brazilian Vampeta.

He also started the lifestyle that continued at Real Madrid, which included all-night partying in Paris before flying back to Spain.

However, he reveals there was one Inter teammate who managed to be even more outlandish in his habits, midfielder Vampeta.

Ronaldo shocked by Vampeta behaviour

“He stayed at my house, and I went to Brazil,” Ronaldo told Cadena SER.

“I had a wine cellar with 100 bottles, and he drank them all in two weeks. He finished all the bottles and opened more crates he had in the apartment until he found one that was special. It was a 1976 bottle that I bought at a restaurant in Paris for €10k.

“He and his friends opened this bottle and gave us each a plastic cup. He said it was hot and put ice in it.”
Bazilians know how to party! 😁

Vampeta was at Inter for only a brief time, from 2000 to January 2001, going on to Paris Saint-Germain.
All that excess had an effect on Ronaldo’s physique, as while he had a lot of muscle, he was also too often overweight.

“I didn’t know what you had to do to be a player, so I did what was shown to me. To rise to the top, you have to develop technically, tactically, and physically,” added the Brazilian.

“People often tell me I was a beast physically, and what a gift it was. Damn, I trained a lot. Nobody gets there that fast without training.”
🆒

Ronaldo Nazario: "When I see someone miss a chance in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper... it's like a stab in the chest. That was my favorite moment, that situation was one of the most relaxed for me.
The goalkeeper always made the decision for me, I never felt nervous in front of the goalkeeper. There is no need to rush, because with every move you make, the goalkeeper will react. So if you pretend to do something, he will show you the way so you can make your decision more calmly.”
Incredible Fact: Ronaldo Nazario scored 88 goals dribbling the goalkeeper before scoring: 25% of his goals (414) in his entire career were in this way. it remains the best record in the history of football.
