Am I the only one who thinks we can do without both Maicon and Jonathan?

JZ and Nagatomo are fine for RB. Nagatomo is in fact much better at RB than at LB.

For LB, we have Pereira as starter. Then there are M'Baye and Jesus who can be used; so we have 4-5 players for these 2 positions which isn't bad. There really is no point keeping Jonathan; would be better to loan him to Napoli and gain some major experience.

ITs not a good idea, we have long season, we gonna play in 3 fronts, if we only had one game every 7 days then yes but as you know we cant, most of our games will be played on sunday, and god knows what teams we are going to play against in Euroleague

IMO I agree with Rockball 4-5 fullbacks is more than enough, especially when we are lucky enough to have 2 as ambidextrous as Yuto and Zanetti who can play equally well on either side. Besides that we have Pereira who definitely isn't being bought to sit on the bench and then youngsters like Juan and M'Baye who will only grow with game time.

From his agent:
"There is no possibility that he goes to AC Milan or Juventus. He has worn the Nerazzurri shirt for six seasons and has too much respect for the fans to betray them in that manner. He could also yet remain at Inter."

:') Aww he's not a traitor... like Lucio

Thats obvious anyway, if he leaves is to win CL with Madrid or Chelsea. With Ac you can win berlusconi cup max.

Chelsea just signed Azpilicueta, so they are out of the running for Maicon.

I doubt City or Real would buy him. Both have shitloads of money to buy anyone and both wouldn't sign a 31 y-o, especially Real.

If Maicon stays what does that mean for the line-up? Zanetti at left-back and periera at LCM? that means either Gargano or Cambiasso wont start.

Still think we should just hold an action, whoever pays the most, whatever that might be, gets him.

if he does stay i think the best thing for the team (but not maicon i guess) is periera at LB, zanetti at RB, and maicon to be subbed on for zanetti later in the game to add some attack and fresh energy. but maicon with a bench role will probably kill any motivation he has left. i'd hope it wouldn't though

Respect... On his day he is a beast, but those days are becoming rarer every season. I hope he goes to a top club and finds his motivation. He sure will rock any league.

Micah Richards is out for 2 months with an injury. Maicon can be a great acquisition for Citeh. Gives them the option of moving Richards to CB position if needed.

They can buy any RB for twice the money, tell me one reason they'd want Maicon. Huge salary, overaged, and seemingly unmotivated to play football like he did anymore [let's not be so sure he'll be necessarily flying up and down the wing non-stop when he changes club]

For one Mancio knows him inside out, was responsible for him developing into the finest RB in the planet. Secondly he would be relatively cheap (7-8m euros). Thirdly with Micah back and expected to be the first choice RB in the long run, Maicon is a decent cover. As regards wages, yes he is highly paid at Inter, but if given a 2 or 3 year contract, he might be willing to compromise there, plus money is not a matter for the Sheikhs there.

As regards his lacking motivation, I believe it was more to do with the fact that he had nothing to prove at Inter and his place being relatively safe. Challenge of proving himself in another league, plus to keep Micah away as long as possible, he can be superb.

Well, we don't have to worry about his salary. I wish we could say the same about Maicon and Cambi.

Cambiasso and Zanetti will start no matter what. They just have too much influence in the changing room. I don't want to see Maicon go but his departure would integrate Gargano and Pereira into the team faster.

---------- Post added at 22:00 ---------- Previous post was at 21:52 ----------

This is what you want you see:
Palaccio
Cassano Sneijder
Gargano Cambiasso Guarin
Pereira Samuel Ranocchia Zanetti

This is how we will end up
Milito Palaccio
Sneijder
Zanetti Cambiasso Guarin
Nagatomo Samuel Ranocchia Maicon

Seriously, every coach wanted to break away from 4312 since Mancini left. Did we ever manage? No. At most even Mou had to put Pandev as sort of a LCM to complete the formation. Remember this?

Eto'o Milito
Sneijder
Pandev Cambiasso Motta
Zanetti Samuel Lucio Maicon

We could have played 4231 with that. But the squad automatically switched back to 4312 on the pitch. It's hopeless. I just hope Maicon will leave us in peace so that we can maybe have a slim chance to transform ourselves.

Maic was horrible at times last night with his lethargic attempts to attack and defend, there was times where he was right at the area where we were being attacked and just watched, and when he tried to attack he just did a lot of stand and pass moves which looked lazy especially when the rest of the team were running their asses off
