If he stays on, we will need to offer him extra years and money.... It's not too bad actually, the guy is class.
But he really wants to move out, so it's better to adapt with the situation.
If we sign a player with his potential, we probably need as much money anyway..., if we really wanna make profit out of it, the management needs to have the backup.. a potential players that doesn't cost that much.. Just like Maicon when he signed with us.
It is very tricky situation, I just think the management has had plan that we don't know.. They don't seem to panic and let maicon go

If Maicon indeed wants to leave, he will leave. A milion difference in contract won't stop him, and sooner or later he will back out and agree on lower terms. They probably are bluffing now to get more money, but if he will in the end stand at the decision to either agree, or stay at Inter, he will lower his demands.

The only way this deal will not get through is if Inter won't accept Madrid's terms, and if someone wishes to hope Maicon will stay, they should rather hope that the clubs will not agree on the fee.

It's because Real are tight, they should just admit it!

my wish is actually that real will not raise his salary, and he'll stay and play with us.
I just doubt it will happen

If he stays then it will be great, even after everything he has said.

Emotional game ? YES.

Typical reaction ? NO.

If it was typical, I wouldn't say he is such a good actor would I ? ;)

typical would be to run around like a mad man, jumping into the stands, or taking of his jersey and swinging it in the air like a mad man... oh wait he already did all of that.

personally i took this as a clear message, to bad he let others influence his decisions.

'Maicon prepared to stay at Inter'
Monday 2 August, 2010

Douglas Maicon is prepared to stay at Inter this summer amid growing frustration at Real Madrid's efforts to sign him, according to his agent.

The Brazil international full-back is in talks with the Spanish giants with a view to a €28m transfer.

However, Real Madrid have balked at his financial demands, which reportedly amount to €7m a year.

Maicon's agent Antonio Caliendo believes that figure is relatively small considering the money other players earn at Real Madrid and also his client's status as a world-class full-back.

Speaking to 7Gold, Caliendo said: “His stay at Inter is a very concrete hypothesis, seeing that he is very happy in Milan.

“Anyway, I am very angry with Real Madrid's behaviour towards us.

“If you want to make a certain investment in a player, you also need to make sacrifices as far as the contract is concerned.

“In any case, there will be developments in the week, but someone is playing dirty,” he concluded.

By all means, do not simply settle for second best Maricon.

What message ? :p

To me the message can be only one, and very simple at that. He is leaving for Madrid, he wants to leave and thus it makes him a very good actor :shades:
