Wasnt Schweistegier a top 10 midfielder when Bayern sold him to Man U? Brozo never struck me as the dedicated / disciplined type. Great footballer but it likely looks like he doesn't have the longevity to maintain this level and fitness. I also loathe his temperament.
As I said, he might never recover but there's no reason to think it'll happen for certain.

Also, it looks like, Schweinsteiger struggled with injuries for a few seasons before moving to Man Utd, not just for one season.

You can make these examples all aroun with players wehere it worked out well and players where id did not.
Was pirlo not supposed to be finished when bbilan let him go?
What about motta? How long did it take for us to find a proper replacement after lettiing him go to psg cause he was old anyways?

I do kind of agree that Broo does not look like he guy who keeps fit in his 30s and he also does not act that way. That being said he also does not act like the guy who constantly runs the most of everybody on the pitch and yet thats what he usually does....

Now media will start claims that the relationship has deteriorated and he wants to leave, so nobody will pay even half of his price.

If a player is not motivated in his current situation it's time to go. Doesnt mean Brozo wont become world class again at Barcelona or wherever. We need energized and committed players who are available t perform, not just talented.

Its a gamble of course but if we're wrong it's ok because we have Hakan and Asllani and maybe Kessie for the regista role. If we're right, then we're stuck with an unmotivated player on high wages (and possibly injury prone). Selling Brozo also helps keep our performing players together for longer. If there's a market for Brozo then it's time to move on

I don't see how he can leave, when his contract was signed only a year ago and he is now 30 yo on a high salary. If Marotta/Zhang have any regrets it's too late if you ask me. They'll have to let him go very cheap if they want to sell him so desperately.

Is there any indication of him not being motivated to play for inter?
Other than him playing for his NT in a WC when he probably should not have?

I wonder if Brozović will finally feature more against Juve or is Inzaghi done with him?

It isn't about Inzaghi being done with Brozovic. It's about Inzaghi considering Mkhi irreplaceable in our starting lineup. He's the only midfielder who never gets benched. Never. Hakan has got rested. Barella has got rested. But Mkhi always plays. Last time he was benched was in the meaningless game against Bayern in Munich where we mostly played with bench warmers (Asllani, Bellanova, Gagliardini, Gosens, Correa, De Vrij). Since then Mkhi always starts, whether it is Serie A, SuperCoppa, Coppa Italia or CL.

So you have Mkhi who always starts. Then you have Barella who's considered a starter and there's no one else in the squad who can play his role. So it's between Hakan and Brozovic for regista role. It's hardly surprising Inzaghi chooses Hakan who has been in great form all season rather than the guy who just returned from a long term injury.

It’s honestly surprising, as Miki’s often the least involved in our attacking play.

The best comparison for how he uses Miki is Eto’o under Mourinho. At Roma and other clubs, he was a very direct attacking threat, always looking to overlap and constantly making runs into the box. Under Inzaghi, he’s often just covering the space left behind when other players push up.

Even Bastoni will be further up the pitch in most instances.

Wait but is that not only the case since Brozo got injured quite sure at the start of the season our starting mid was brozo barella and hakan...
I mean he got his first start in round 7 in serie a... He did however start in CL from the get go so what do I know....

Things have changed a lot since the start of the season. At the start of the season Brozovic was considered irreplaceable in the starting lineup as we were under the impression there's no one else in the squad who could play in his role. So there was really no room for Mkhi in the starting line up who also had an early injury that kept him behind. I wouldn't read too much in his starts in CL (while Brozovic was fit). Team was doing very poorly in the league and Inzaghi was receiving lots of criticism at the time. So he chose to give a shock to the team against Bayern by benching many of the starters at the time (Handanovic, De Vrij, Barella, Dimarco). That's how Mkhi found himself in the starting lineup. Then he started against Plzen again as Inzaghi chose to rotate the squad a bit because of opponent's low level (Handanovic, Chala, Dimarco, Lautaro benched).

But situation is a lot different now.

While Brozovic was recovering from his injury, Hakan established himself as a quality regista, making Mkhi as the only option for LCM. Mkhi grew into the role and now Inzaghi considers him crucial for his system as he always starts him. So now situation has reversed and there's no room for Brozovic who finds himself fighting for a spot with an in form Hakan.

Don't have one.
I honestly think we look much more compact in midfield without him, even though he is a vastly superior player to mkhi. The problem is he has this weird tendency to kinda stray or float away from his position, that's just his playing style I suppose, so that leaves all kinds of holes open when he is on the pitch. It wasn't even that noticeable until mkhi started playing regularly.

So imo the dilemma here is quality over compactness, and given the other two midfielders that surround mkhi think inzaghi made a fair choice.

It was decisive alright. Dude is on the downturn.

He's not on a downturn. But our team has moved on to a different style of play since he got injured. More aggressive and less dependent on him recycling possession.

He was terrible against Turkey, his shitty misplaced passing almost got early two goals for Turkey. And I dont want to go to his constant hand flapping when he lose every fkn ball. He is unrecognizable this season.
