I personally have seen him 4-5 times play. He has been decent to good in those games so who knows. I will say I also know there is a lot of biased people when it comes to croatian football whether it's positive or negative because of the politics that goes on in croatian football regardless if he comes we will get to see how it plays out. I wish him the best.

Care to explain?

sure,

the anti zagreb fans usually dislike players from that club because they feel Mamic controls the national team. So they say these guys are not good enough to play in the national team but they play there only to raise their value. There recently was a convo about this on reddit here.

So most hadjuk fans or fans of Rijeka dislike the way he is involved in the national team set up

Also, I am not saying our croatian fans here who have commented about brozovic are biased I am just saying some croatian fans are.

Mamic seems like such an asshole..

- - - Updated - - -

edit; mamic's son is Kovacic and Brozovic's agent

edit2; found a great article corruption in croatian football:

http://franklymrspencer.blogspot.ca/2013/06/dinamo-zagreb-story-of-money-power-and.html

I remembered correctly, mamic makes all his young players use his son as an agent and sign a contract to commit 25% of their salary for the rest of their career or he sells them and prevents them from making it in the national team. This is probably going on with Kova, and will go on with Brozovic in the future (if he signs). Absolutely disgusting.

Mamic made his money in the war in the balkans. What a piece of shit. He also personally appointed the president of the croatian football federation. And Dinamo is openly funded with the money of Croatian taxpayers because of Mamic's political connections.

How are people letting this go on?

Hello everyone. Fact is that Dinamo produces most nt players these last years. The main man of croat football is Mamic, a guy that controls most of the football because dinamo has earned 120 million these last few years with transfers. While the whole of croatia always has too big expectations on tournaments it was the case again this summer. Most croats were even naive to believe we will roll over Mexico without too much problems. Problem was, the team had to be reconstructed after the bad qualifications where the idiot stimac was able to lose to schotland two times. Thats when you know you are really fucking things up. After stimac is sacked the croatian ff decides to hire Kovac, a great explayer and personality who won all his games in the u21 with Brozovic as the main man. When he immediately tried to use him in the nt most croats were totally schicofrenic. Why does Bozovic play instead of Kova they would always ask. It must be because mamic told Kovac to play him instead of Kova.:awyeah: While i love Kova and he gets better every day last year Broz showed that he was always a better complement to Modric and Rakitic than Kova was. I wanted it very much not to be true but it was that way. We have struggled for the last six years with a player in midfield that would complement Modra and Rak. The guy who did this all these years is the antitalented hack Vukojevic. I would not be suprised that these Broz bashers were screaming for Vukojevic because with him we would have defeated mexico. Well, only in their dreams. Broz shits on Vuk in every way. But they just couldnt take it that one more Dinamo player was somehow able to play better in midfield than Kova the great Interlegend (well, not yet).

The moment when broz started playing in midfield every normal honest fan would have to admit that our midfield was starting too look better every game.

Its being repeated so many times that Dinamo sells players through the nt and thats somehow a reason why they dominate. My ass. People in croatia laugh at their own successfull sons. Even before the year that Modric went to madrid modric was an ugly fucker and alibi player who never did anything on the field according to most fans. Thats the level of most of the croats in croatia. They denigrate everyone and everything. Mandukic was being laughed at up to the moment he scored the wiining goal in the cl final. Before that he was a stupid hack without motivation. Now they lick his balls. I promise you, in half a year Broz will be a world beater according to these people. Most are so blinded with curruption in croatia (which definately exists) but they try to picture everything bad. Croatia as a country of 5 million people must do something right when they qualify for most tourmants. But no, corruption rules in cro, full stop. When you explain to them that unprofessional behaviour is punished very quickly in professional football they dont understand. They even think that Inter just looked at one youtube vid and bought him. They think that millions are being thrown in the bin just because of one youtube vudeo and one game at meazza. They diont realise that players are analysed for years before they are bought (well maybe not in in england):)

Croatia has been hoping for this kind of player for years. A player with great lungs who has a bit of everything. He is pretty fast if you ask me, good tehcnique with both feet, can go past a man, can play simple, can shoot from distance with both feet, can spread play, scores a lot, great mentality. Better than Kuz and Guarin for sure. Especially Kuz. Laughable that the croat says he dont think he is better than Kuz. LMFAO. Kuz is simply a bad player while Broz was a ble to slot in a mf of Modric, Rakitic without any sweat. Like he has played wth them for years. Great buy for Inter. Inter has done very well on tyhe market and i expect a lot from them already this year. I promise you guys, you willnot be dissapointed. I predict that he will slot right in in a few weeks.

I watched Italy-Croatia game replay, and I wouldn't go to the extent saying Brozovic was 'bossing'; he was average. He'd done a decent job in keeping ball possession for Croatia by passing the ball neatly, but that's it. He rarely imposed himself in the game as Rakitic or even Parisic did.

But, of course, I will not immediately judge this transfer on just one game performance (Kova looked more terrible than him, btw); but still, he did not give me a great first impression on him tbh.

Someone who does a decent job keeping the ball in friendly possession?

Well if that isnt the player we've been screaming for since Thiago Motta left, I don't know who is.

I dont think anyone is expecting us to sign a Croatian 'Hernanes', another Kovacic, or anything like that. We need someone who can help us with the transition from defense to attack, just look at the Empoli game, and if this guy is capable of doing that, I'm all for it.

I'd rather Cigarini for free at the end of the year instead of spending 8 million we don't have.

I think a midfield of Kovacic and Brozovic with Icardi and Shaqiri up front will be far too inexperienced for italian football.

Probably not but its what makes zagreb successful and with kova it may have been tough seeing as interest was high in him when he first hit the scene. I am not sure on all the wage stuff tbh.

an 'experienced' attack with palacio, milito, etc, has only failed us in the past.

sometimes its nice to have a bit of a rejuvenation. They might be tactically naive, or similar, at first, but sooner or later they stop being inexperienced.

I've never seen Brozovic play so I'm not going to compare ahim against Cigarini

Let's see what happens. I have my doubts about what will happen with that kind of youth and inexperience in Italian football (where they teach kids how to con refs in youth academies ), but if we're willing to give the team time (Im talking about years) to settle in, and these are the players Mancini wants, fair enough.

I'm not even sure if there's a precedence for a successful team of youngsters in italian football. although it can also be causation (eg. no one plays young players) but I don't think thats the case.

It really depends on your objectives.

Our objectives arent to win the league this, or next, season. It's to start to develop a real team after nearly 5 seasons of NOT having a coherent team.

Lets say Mancini has 18 months - where our main aim is to hit 3rd place - Brozovic will be coming up to 24, Kovacic will be 22, JJ 25, D'ambro 27, Shaq 24 coming on 25, Icardi 23, it doesnt look quite so young anymore. Still on the younger side, admittedly, but still

That's a good point. Although I think Thohir's plan is to qualify for Champions League this season. Didn't he say in September that he is aiming to make Inter one of the top 10 clubs in Europe over the next 2 years? If we want to build a squad with a young core, I'd rather give time for the players to mature and settle into calcio and Mancini to build the squad in his own image.

That's a good point. Although I think Thohir's plan is to qualify for Champions League this season (which is why we've gone all out post WM in November for Mancio and January for Shaq and maybe Brozovic and another CB). Didn't he say at the beginning of the season Inter will be in the top 10 clubs of Europe in 2 years?

I dunno. I still want the youth project.
Yeah, the objectives for this season are getting a bit murky.

IMHO, if Mancini develops a stong team core and shows good progress, that's all I Care about. We're so far behind from the WM + leftover period (until Mancini got to sign his players) that we're screwed from the beginning, and any short-termism is just going to be fatal for us.

I think we're all pretty impressed with the work Mancini has done in the few weeks of January, and how much of an impact he's had, so if he continues on this same route the rest of the season, he's golden in my books.

To 'expect' anything this season is a mistake - lets aim for 3rd NEXT season. I know it sucks from a budget perspective, but we really need to get the short termism out of our head and start to build coherent teams and basis from which we can go forward.
