I am very sad with our Croatian friends here. Damn you guys for not giving a clear picture on how the hell is this Brozovic guy. Reading some of the comments here, it seems that we have wasted our money. Then, some of the comments bring up some hope. Thanks to you guys, I am not so excited with this signing at the moment and will have to wait for some time to know what kind of player we might have signed.

We can't expect to sign one hell of a player for 8 million for sure but we can at least hope for a better version of Guarin/Kuzmanovic. I would be more than happy with that as well.

:)

That's because you have occasional glroyhunting(for the lack of the better or more polite term) football fans on one side that eat everything that media serves them and people that actually understand what's going on and call it like it is. The second group is often labeled as ''haters'' because the debates with the first group end very quickly and painfully for the ''gloryhunters''. I would demonstrate that myself but since this isn't ''Croatian football'' thread I don't think people should be reading about this stuff in here.

What people should be reading about is how does Brozović actually perform on the pitch.

As I said earlier he has never, and I mean never strung a series of consistent quality perfomances against serious opponents.

Dude is an attacking CM that can defend, box to box if you like who scores very few goals for his role. One freaking goal in HNL this season!! ONE!

To illustrate how full of shit people are when claiming he is some Xavi holding type MF or such crap I'll remind everyone that Brozović was used as an AM for the NT in some games with Rakitić playing DM. In his job description is to score or create goals which he does it on an average/below average level. His defensive duties in his club really shouldn't have prevented him from scoring more goals since he always played with a DM alongside him.

His defensive game is obviously solid but it also isn't anything special. He is kind of jack of all trades or master of one.

Inter bought hype, youth and some potential here. The transfer fee is in the line what was expected for him since players with such physical attributes are in demand in todays game. I'm surprised that some lower PL team didn't top this offer to be honest. 8M is nothing for a potentially good player these days and he would fit like a glove in PL, Inter being broke is another story. So it's not like this is an outrageous sum for him, Inter have wasted money on worse for years.

Fans like to see new, shiny(pun intended) players in their clubs and alyways hope for the best but there is simply not enough evidence that this player improves our team right away. It's obviously possible that he grows into a better player than Guarin or Kuzmanović one day but he'll need patience. It's always a question with clubs like Inter would they be able to afford such patience with high goals set. Do I even need to list numerous young players that were supposed to be future key members of a new era Inter? Now sold or loaned all over Europe or Italy. :)

I believe he won't win much praise, just like most box to box midfielders... their main attributes is stamina... only few rare ones can be good defensively and offensively ie: yaya, marchisio and Bastian..

Supportin' Chelsea since 2002, as I recall Chelsea didn't have fans before 2003... is he a hipster or a liar?

What the hell, that is like saying Inter did not have fans before 2007.

Kovacic is also from Dinamo Zagreb but with him is not the same situation.Mateo is a great player and person while Brozović is overrated player and really retarted person. The thought that he might be the one who will control the Inter midfield is ridiculous. You will see everything soon if he signs...
And...Mamic controls the national team and that is a fact.

Yeah, the same person that wrote a long post about Brozovic being amazing said that Mamic's influence is overstated. Like he hasn't admitted he uses taxpayers money for Dinamo, he extorts his players out of their salaries, Mamic isn't always accompanying the president of the federation (suker) everywhere including international matches?

sure, sammir was in the national team out of merit...

I don't see how that's like saying Inter had no fans before 2007. Chelsea were a pub side before Abramovich. He only chose them over Arsenal because he liked the color blue.

Brozovic probably said that because he wants to join them. I don't believe he was a fan of Chelsea when Ranieri and Zola were running the show. It's possible, but for someone like him, not probable.

bitch please, just because chelsea wasn't such a big club before abramovich that doesn't mean there weren't fans all round england and europe that cheered for chelski.

ALWAYS RESPECT FOOTBALL FANS if you want to be respected too. YOU'LL FIND FANS OF OBSCURE/LESS KNOWN CLUBS EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD. That is especially true for english clubs. Sure, they haven't won as much as some others, but they still won titles and cfc was also in the top tier for most of the time. How is that not to respect?

Altho mr. Bro being a cfc fan back when is a bit hard to swallow.^

was more like this most the time, i think. Looks quite familiar from Sant'Elia and othersin Serie A, besides cars parking next to the field.

Of course, but the argument isn't that Chelsea had zero or bad fans. It's that Brozovic is a Chelsea fan. And I was just disagreeing with you comparing Chelsea pre-Abramovich to Inter pre-Calciopoli.

 I've heard of this guy before, he was also linked to Arsenal too.

Arsenal Croatian Fan thoughts on this player:

There are many reports in Croatia about Arsenal interest and as I know this guy since he was 12, thought I should write a scouting report for you.

Broz is one of the best players in Croatian first division, and the manner in which he evolved from a talented lower league player to a starter for the national team and most important Dinamo player is just amazing.

Many experts had their doubts about him making the next step, and I for one thought that despite his talent he wouldnt make it, but he did his best too answer his critics.

He is an allround midfield player, with great technical skills, and unbeliveable engine. He also has a great shot on him that he doesnt use as often as he should. His best games were in a CM position where he is able to best utilize his strenghts and make the players around him better. I would say this is the reason he will have a great career, because everytime he plays he seems to speed up the team he plays in and somehow gets the best out of his teammates.

He also has amazing football inteligence which is kind of a paradox when you know he isnt exactly the sharpest tool in the shed off the field. He failed his driving licence test 14 times, has serious betting adiction and a behaviour of an uninterested 10 year old kid.

But his "inteligence" is in my opinion on of the factors in his rapid rise as he never thinks about who and where he plays. He always gives 110 percent, and doesnt care about how important the game is, which will turn him into a reliable big game player as he becomes older.

He reminds me of Aaron alot, because they have alot in common in terms of their abilities and habits to take advantage of space between lines, as they both use their running capacity to get on the end of plays and score goals.

At the moment, Brozovic is a diamond in tbe rough and if someone directs him properly, he will become a next great Croatian midfielder, because he has both the talent and is a really hard worker when it comes to training.

Maybe 10 year old Brozovic got a stanic-chelsea jersey as birthday present, and starts following the club. Who knows. Ask people in here, and half the stories is same level.

with the acquisition of brozo, we can quite possibly say goodbye to duncan and taider, two players i rate higher than this guy who just feels like another okay-but-overpayed player.

Sure, as always, i'll give him a chance, but i thought we had duncan and taider to look forward to and that inter will spend money on different players.

From the general description of Brozovic it sounds like Taider is an extremely similar player to him. Also, if Duncan is indeed going to stay at Samp we might as well give Krhin and Obi some game-time. People complain that they aren't Inter standard, but rules are rules and we need home grown players, and they're not going to want to stay if they never see the pitch.

Italian is 99% non verbal anyway. He'll be fine. 'Fuck you' vs 'Give me the ball' vs 'What the fuck are you doing' vs 'Fuck your mother' are all quite obvious gestures in Italian.

I can confirm this.

Ok, then how safe is a quick trip to Italy with this basic knowledge? :eek:blivious:

You can travel almost anywhere with basic communication skills. It's made even easier when you can speak English. I know people who have gone to Japan and other countries without much knowledge of the language.
