what is the world coming to, when Materazzi starts in a world cup final!!

You ate your ****ing words bro.

Grande Materazzi, the ref was harsh on you with that penalty given to Malouda's fagget little dive but you redeemed yourself with a crucial goal and a perfect penalty in which concluded a very very successful World Cup for him.

I think even the Marco bashers can agree with me.

He has been clean and impeccable during all the world cup, i never knew he was that good, matrix and cannavaro have never played that good with us.....
I'am happy he is finally staying, but there is no way he officialy stars over Samuel, he will play a lot anyway, he is much better than Burdisso, more eggs than Burdisso.

for the first time in my life, I was truly embarassed about being an Inter supporter.
Some blokes who have a small understanding of futebol at work know how much I love this club called "Inter Milan", they were discussing the World Cup final today, Zidane was the subject of discussion and how he got sent off, some bloked asked me who does that farkwit who got Zidane sent off play for, and I replied, AC Milan. :nervous:

What a true farkwit of the game Materazzi, not only in Italia, but thankfully the world is he hated now, globally hated, to get the worlds greatest player sent off in his last game, I've seen Zidane for 15 years, I remember him @ Marseille, never have I seen him react so stupidly, god I can only wonder what that petualant oaf of a defender Materazzi said to him, Zidane has more class in his ass hair than Materazzi does in his entire body.
Good to see him score, but what a joke giving away the penalty and getting done by Henry a few times, luckily Cannavaro being the great that he is covered his sorry ass.

Mihajlovic spitting, I would rather than Materazzi.

What are you talking about?

You don't blame Materazzi for the sending off. The fingers should, and are rightfully pointed at the Frenchman, himself.

Even if he did provoke Zidane, he didn't deserve the headbutt. Unless of course, you are a proponent of violence in response to criticism?

So how was Materazzi a petulant (sic) oaf? From what I've seen, he has been a good defender for the Italians, thus far.

Have your anti-Matrix shades been toned a notch darker?

catanha said:

Oh yeah? So who was the one headbutting Materazzi in the chest yesterday?

Your hypocritical stance is absurd.

catanha said:

It wasn't even a penalty.

Zambrotta's tackle had a more legitimate call for a spot kick than Materazzi's touch.

Oh, please.

Materazzi could have been the verbal protagonist, but he was clearly the victim of a physical attack.

Your standards with regards to appropriating fair distribution of praise and critique are lacking.

Ciao,
Tim

fair distribution, two things I've heard about what Materazzi said to Zidane

1- About his mother

2- That Materazzi told Zidane to play for his real country, the arab C.U.N.T....

continue to praise his performances (although rather more built up than he deserves), but if either of those two rumours are true (I hope Zidane tell us the full story), then you're scum for even defending him.

So, do you think violence is an appropriate response to verbal critique?

I'm defending Materazzi because the man gets a proportionately high amount of criticism despite his best intentions.

If the rumors are true, then yes, Materazzi was an ******* for insulting Zidane's mom. However, it does not exonerate Zidane from his actions.

That's what you are trying to do.

of course it doesn't, I said Zidane reacted stupidly, what more do you want? For me to criticise one of the players who I've seen for the last decade rip up every single defender, and only twice in his career have I seen that, every other time he oozed class and the greatest of defenders, the most lethal and hack of defenders gave him respect, bar one, Marco Materazzi.

Why is Materazzi an oaf? you answered your own question when you said that 'the man gets a proportionately high amount of criticism despite his best intentions'........sent off against Australia, gave the penalty in the World Cup final and what he will absolutely no doubt in my mind most be remembered for is that he was the player who got the greatest player in the history of the game sent off in his final ever match.

Insulting his mother, telling him to play for his real country (the Arab c.un.t) and the terrorist line...if any of those are true (I would bet my Marco Materazzi poster that one of them is), then I truly don't know how I can have passion for Inter when that scum is there.

For the record Luis, Zidane has a quick temper..especially with his headbutts.

Red Card in 98 for stamping down on a Saudi player, and with Juventus he headbutted Jochen Kientz when they played Hamburg in the CL also getting red carded.

The above quote, Thats the one. Exactly what was said i dont know, but it was a racial slur, and if so I think Matrix should be suspended for just as many games as Zidane would be if he was playing. Its already come out that it was racism and for a bloke whos always been against it, thats a disgrace from Marco.

forgot about the stomp, but I remember he did headbutt another player once as well, so thats 3 times I've seen him react like that.

I'm very angry at Materazzi right now, I said he had a good match, but whether it was honestly Zanetti or Cannavaro, I would've said the same thing if they had gotten Zidane sent off in the same manner, perhaps with not as much anger because I do not like Materazzi or the way he plays the game, but if it was a racial slur (remember his photo with Martins, promoting that racism is wrong?) then I will hate the bloke forever!

What Zidane did in terms of skill and talent in his entire career is irrelevant.

What matters is the man resorted to violence in his resolution of a verbal argument.

Zidane oozes class, indeed.

That's the problem I have with your statements, catanha.

Materazzi did not get Zidane sent off.

Domenech: We Can’t Excuse Zidane

France coach Raymond Domenech admitted that Zinedine Zidane could not be excused after his headbutt on Marco Materazzi in the World Cup final defeat to Italy.

With the score at 1-1 in extra-time Zidane was sensationally sent-off for butting Materazzi in the chest before Italy went on to win on penalties.

Domenech told French TV: “Materazzi was the man of the match, not Pirlo . I’m sad for Zidane. Great career. I’m sad.

“When one has to put up with what Zidane had to and the referee doesn't do anything, one understands. We can’t excuse Zidane but we can understand.

“I haven’t seen him yet.”

It has been suggested that the French players will appear at the Champs Elysees to celebrate reaching the final, but Domenech does not believe they should make an appearance on Monday.

“I don’t know yet if the players will go on the Champs Elysees,” he added.

“I don’t want them to. I don’t think it’s a good thing.”

GRANDE MARCO! :star:

Domenech's relationship (or lack of) is known to all, that comment is hardly surprising.

It doesn't make his opinion any less relevant, catanha.

never said it didn't, I just said the comment is not surprising.

so you got that photo of Materazzi with Martins & Adriano promoting getting rid of racism? I love that photo, I have no doubts Materazzi takes it seriously.

With regards to the above statement, does anybody have any links to sites detailing the confrontation?

Has Zidane defended his actions with an elaboration of the incident?

etc etc etc etc etc

there are a million reports claiming (without confirmation, ofcourse, ARF!) that Materazzi racially abused Zidane.

the story that a French bloke is saying on Australian forums is (he say Canal says it, but the bloke is a bullsh1t artist, so I don't take his word that seriously) is that Materazzi insulted his mother, to which Zidane responded with atleast I have a mother, then as Zidane was walking way, Materazzi said why don't you play for your real country you arab c.un.t and then Zidane Mortal Kombated him.

ps. that report about Domenech's comments about Materazzi, he's taking the p1ss, being ironic,..

i love matrix, and the passion he brings on to the filed.

he played a brilliant game, and the guy had a role in almost evey major event in the a match.

however if any of these alligations come out to be correct, then its going to be difficult for anyone to respect him again. i just dont like it when, peopple say, well done for irritating the other player, and getting him sent off. thats just cheap.

Tim, i think its a bit unfair, to say matrix didn't get zidane sent off. if their was no provication, then no incident would occur. for me its 50/50 responcibility.

Zamat, I think Domenech was being sarcastic.

I really didn't think there was a verbal exchange, but now I am reading more and more that there was one. If what is said is true, and Materazzi racially abused Zidane, then it will just be too sad!

I really hope it isn't the case.
