We have to consider that maybe Thuram spends too much time playing deep because Inzaghi wants him to? Dzeko often did that, he even drifted wide right and was sending in crosses.

I think as for now, Thuram is also not getting in the right places to strike the ball at the goal more. Wasn't happy with his headers, hopefully he'll do better when the season starts.

The reason is really simple. At top teams either there wasn't a prolific scorer in the first place or he was unavailable.

Bayern: They basically didn't have a main forward and scoring was shared among wing forwards and midfielders. At a point they were forced to play Choupo Moting who scored some goals but then he got injured.
Dortmund: Haller was available only in second round due to his cancer. Their other options were grandpa Modeste who was signed out of desperation after Haller's health issue and 18-year old Moukoko who is talented but inconsistent. Scoring mostly came from midfield and wingers.
Leipzig: Nkunku missed many games due to injury, Werner is Werner and Andre Silva has been a flop.
Leverkusen: Schick missed most of the season. Their second goal scorer was a rb.
Freiburg: Scoring comes mostly from Grifo who's a winger.
Union: They're a solid unit but they don't have the players with individual quality to score week in week out. Scoring is shared throughout the squad
Frankfurt: Kolo Mouani exploded post World Cup

From the rest of the league, Kramaric has got old, Fullkrug is decent but plays for a bad team and there are just no prolific forwards at the other clubs.

There's a reason Bayern went for Kane. There isn't THE forward in the league who will guarantee 25+ goals. Kolo Mouani has the potential to be that guy but he isn't there yet.

It’s OK, I don’t expect him to have
>20 goals but at least 10 goals. What I want from him is to keep possession up front and open space in compact defensive line. We have strong midfielders so they can convert some goals there. He’s not lighting fast but does have decent pace. His weakest point so far is aerial threat.

I think he needs just time to adjust. Inzaghi is totally different quality than Farke ever will be ( last seasons BMG coach) . Not to mention tactics, new tasks, new roles on the pitch. It all takes time.

Now that you came here , watch him scoring in the derby. When milanisti start to brag they usually are brought back to earth, has happened every year. I don't want to even imagine what Meelan Reggae forum's delusion levels are right now as I havent read it in almost 2 months. Maybe you can give a few insights how the mood is there :D
Lol perhaps he might turn out to be a good player but based on the evidence so far he seems to be a strange fit. He's no Lukaku imo. Lukaku was a bull and a scorer. Thuram is more deft of touch and not as physically imposing. As for our forum we easily acknowledge that our own squad is incomplete especially in midfield and defense. We also know that Inter's midfield is the best at the moment with the addition of Lazar. We're not as deluded as you think. Our attack has improved on paper now PIOLI has to make it work.

Thanks for the jinx, let's hope for 30 goals now

Yeah, Inter mostly went for him because he was free.
Free yes but that salary tho.. Wtf. Everything about him just gave me Kondogbia vibes. Was glad to let him go. Who knows he may prove me wrong..

Yeah, I'm not really a fan either, at least as far finishing chances go and being at the right place at the right time, he is barely a bit better than Correa

How are the new kids doing that you guys just bought? I didn't see any highlight videos

I think you are way overrating Lukaku here. Played only 25 Serie A games last year. BigRom has fucked 2 precious finals for us already too. Had one of the shittiest heading skills in our whole team. When he pulls his hamstring he could be the most costly error for us with wages and transfer cost . Main thing, you need to cut the snakes and mommas boys out from your main XI, its only Correa left now. Its a tragedy we can't replace him with say explosive Gift Orban.

Thuram , like any new player coming from a different league will take time to adjust. Like I said, Inzaghi is way more complex and harder coach to understand than Marcus last year's noob coach , who was sacked this summer. But if he clicks he could be a great combination with Lautaro. It takes time to settle in Serie A imo. Everyone says EPL is the hardest, but look at Tonali going from Serie A's average Joe to scoring a 6' minute debut goal with a big ass rating :D

You're coming here gloating too early I think. But this is alright. This is a standard from a RnB fella.

Well if you read my first comment above I clearly stated that I DIDN'T come to gloat but I know context and general sentiment is sometimes hard to relay over text alone. I simply find Thuram to be a strange signing for both our clubs who are looking for scorers. He just never seemed the type to me. I didn't say he's a bad player at all just NOT what is needed and especially NOT at those wages.

With our new signings Reijnders imo has been the most impressive easily. That guy is class and I hope our 'system' doesn't dim his natural instincts. RLC is a funny one. I can see him being a massive success for us because he has a very unique skill set of physicality and technique and he's been good so far. But I have questions about his consistency having not been a steady starter. Chucky and Pulisic will do wonders for us on either side and make our attack far less Leao dependent and keep us fresher. My concerns mainly lie in defence... To me our defense is a major concern and will be our downfall unless we add another CB and LB. A DM is also very much needed so I am not that confident about our team just yet.

Yeah, this Milan versus City or Barca wouldn't look pretty.

On the other hand, you guys have a very young squad now. If CDK doesn't happen again, could be a surprise Scudetto for you guys.

Nice game, good effort, pressing, gave solutions.

Lack of automatisms was flagrant but I have faith.

I like his game. I do think Inzaghi will start Arnautovic in big games though.

I liked his debut. He was good at finding positions but received no balls. Sure he will do great for us.

the fact that he's fast is by itself a big win. Competition will be fierce which is only good for us
