Fans usually have limited scope of watching mostly Serie A games, plus some big clashes from other leagues. Then might know players from their locals, that's it.

So it is understandable that in those limited views no one is better than Arnautovic. But Inter should have much better database and should have done much better.

No non-locals fans knew the Partizan's Vlahovic, Sturm Graz's Hojlund, Racing's Lautaro, Lille's Osimhen or Sporting's Leao instance, until the respective clubs got them. Many didnt know Thuram coz he "only" played for Gladbach.

Such big-fish-small-pond market is what we should aim for. But must be cautious to know which fish is really the "big". The responsibility of ones who get paid millions to do their job.

No club is going to offer 5 million for him. We should not have offered him a two year contract. A one year contract with an option for a second year based on his performances would have been more prudent.

What I really dislike with Inter is the feeling of having old Christmas cake players that are one or two seasons past their use by date. In that category, we also have Alexis but he has proven to be more useful than Arnautovic.

Personally, and I know that views differ on this, but it is a blight on our scouting that the club always looks at and prefers old Christmas cake rather than opting for a younger player. And the worst part about that is having a player on the books whose contribution in their last season will be negligible. It is a waste of a place in the squad and simultaneously delays the development and progress of the squad.

Brehme, Transfermarkt simply states that his contract is until 2025.
