to be fair, on a 2? year deal, he's gonna run us like 8.5mil per season amortisation - thats significantly less than correa, less than dzeko, sanchez, etc. Less than half the price of Lukaku?

I don't doubt his ability, I doubt our ability as a team to endure a whole season with him and correa and their injury record.

Dzeko had more than twice a carrer but isnt twice a player.

Arnautovic had a bad attitude at the begin of his carrer and suffered from this. After that he played for teams (Werder and Stoke) were his teammates werent able to understand his good actions. He had a peak at West Ham but made a bad choice going to China. Then Bologna which saved him. Overall bad decision making with his clubs, a bad manager (his brother) ruined much for him.

Considering his talent he would have been able to compete at the highest level

We aren't going to spend big bucks on any of the other names we are linked with. 10 M sucks, but he's the right addition for our squad based on style of play and league. He will score 10+ goals for us. Rather do this deal than a deal for Lakaka.

Considering he has only twice in his career scored 10 goals or more from open play in a league season, thats one hell of a guarentee.

There is no way he breaks the 10g mark, unless he suddenly starts taking penalties + gets lucky.

He also easily gets wind up and/or angered. He has the mentality of a child and the IQ of a donkey.

How he isnt? He lead Wolfsburg to first ever bundesliga champion trophy, he still is their best ever scorer in Bundesliga and he was there for 3 seasons. Then he went to City and and was clutch there also, his entrance helped them win that last game and win first EPL trophy in god knows how many years. Everywhere he went he was clutch, winner and made all other players better. He almost carried that Roma side to UCL final and if refs didnt make some debatable decisions they could have gone through that Liverpool side.

No, I'm just saying, he's not too expensive actually, esp on the low salary. If he can contribute at the level that Dzeko did, then we should be happy
