Full name: Matías Agustín Silvestre
Date of birth: 25 September 1984
Place of birth: Mercedes, Argentina
Height: 1.84 m (6 ft 1⁄2 in)

"The U.S. Città di Palermo announces that it has sold Matias Silvestre to FC Internazionale. The defender arrives at the Milan club on loan with the right of redemption."

First of all, welcome to the great Internazionale. Please be a 8055 with less brain farts as possible (unlike that Frog). Fill up Lucio's spot as good as you can. Your countryman, the great Wally, will stand right by you. Just please do your job as good as you can, cuz Interisti hate to see Chivu play.

Hopefully if all goes well, you'll be a permanent Inter player, win lots of trophies with us, identify yourself with the club & give your sole to it.......... & at some point, as a sign of gratitude for your services, your contract will get rescinded.

:yao:

Salute.

Welcome to inter, best wishes to you.

I thought we bought him already, but it as it looks its just a loan, at list we got the best out of this deal, if he fails we wont bother to buy him, but as it looks like no defender can fail as much as we did last season, so once more best of luck at inter

On another note, is he going to get Cordoba's number 2?

How good is he? I haven't watched him play but I used to buy him on FM when I started saves with smaller teams.

Is he good enough to start for Inter or as a rotational player?

Oh and Good luck Silvestre.

It is a loan which is good. Management is clearly more carefull with money. Now they just need to learn how to jugde players abilities.

Oh and Good luck Silvestre.

I like him a lot as player, wanted him when he was at Catania, but he went to Palermo. Strong, good with his head. Reminds me on Samuel, but a bit faster.

I think he is good enough to start. But i dont think no one should have automatic starting spot in the team, so whoever is in best form should start. That's about it.

Welcome Matias. All the best in this holy jersey :) Great deal, even if he doesn;t turn out to be good for us, we won't redeem him. And if we do, 8 mils is NOTHING in this retarded world. It's only one more than what Palermo paid for him. Fairly low wages, in his best years and probably motivated anough to be playing in big club for the first time. Looks great so far, let's see how he settles now.

I doubt it that we didn't buy him because we couldn't. Just a precaution. If he fails then we can just send him back and no big loss in money.

Anyway, welcome and good luck!

Win-win situation for us with this deal.

Gotta laugh at Zamparini though. All this tough talk about Milan clubs being "poor" and how Silvestre will be all cash, no trades, 10mil blah blah blah

Hope they give that to Rano to make him stay. This was a great deal worst case scenerio we wasted 2 million euro but best case scenerio we get a starting CB for 8.5 million which is a great deal. I don't really rate him too highly or think he is that fast but would love to be proven wrong. Anyone is better than Chivu or Lucio

I won't go as far as praising the move. I praised Guarin's move since imo, he is 100% a high quality player and a definite improvement. This move is just NOT BAD (there goes Inter's new "it could be worse" mentality :palm:) and our risk is relatively low. I don't think Silvestre is high quality. Whether or not he is an improvement, we'll see.
