Do we have to pay the other 6 if doesn't do well or somehow Longo or another youth player ends up benching him? Or is this another Silvestre deal?

Handa was the best goalie in the league. Icardi is an up and comer... not really the same deal. Getting Silvestre and ICardi here on loan and not being able to get rid of them makes me scared that we will have to pay 6 million for him even if he fails to score next season

That's one hell of a deal and way cheaper (in yearly balance) than before. 6.5 in three years and 6 more to come later. :notbad:

Icardi will not be a failure. He has 10 goals in first season in the most defensively disciplined league in the world, and he's only 20.

I've seen a lot of people that have watered down his goals, like oh 4 against pescara, 2 against juve, 1 in the moon, one was a header, one with eyes closed.

You can water down any striker's goals like that. Even players like Cavani/Falcao have so many penalties, that Icardi didn't have.

Those were 10 goals from open play, and were almost all amazing.

Again, remember this was his FIRST season.

If you look at a random striker's trends, with Icardi there is an almost 0% chance of a flop. I know everything has a risk, but this move is as good as it gets.

You can lose form and all, but his movement, dribbling, technique and eye for finishing you can't lose.

For a 20 year old to come and boss like that on his first season with a second hand team, it takes great mentality, that will be very hard to break down. With a coach like Mazzari that gets the best out of strikers, and in a system where he will have way more service than Sampdoria, the risk is extremely low.

LOL, Cavani and Falcao both scored in 20 out of 34 games they featured in...

Icardi scored in 6 our of 31 games he appeared in.

Comparison of the year.

So I guess Mauro has talked to Mazzarri (even though no one is supposed to speak to him until pre season) and he told him he will be important. Number 9 will also be his. Interested to see what Belfodil will choose.

You're a complete idiot and every argument you make is a straw man.

First of all, I was making a reference to the penalties, that some strikers' tallies seem higher due to their penalties.

Also, Cavani had about 2 goals in his first season, and 5 goals the next.

Falcao had about 7 goals in debut in ARGENTINA, then 2, then 11.

Icardi is 20 years and had 10 open play goals in his FIRST season in Serie A, and with a team that has 10x less the service of Napoli or Porto and Athletico Madrid.

I am not watering down his goals just lessening my expectations.

LOL right... You have to be the biggest moron on this site and believe me thats an accomplishment.

So at the same time you are comparing cavani/falcao and the amount of penalty goals they score now + how they did in their starting seasons :rollani: Thats sensible....

Fuck off with your "open play" bullshit, the initial talk was about "watering down his goals", since he only scored in 6 games, then the giant retard that you are brings up Falcao and Cavani with some ridiculous comparison of how they did in their first season ( Cavani only featured in 7 serie a games you dullard) + how many pen's they score now.

Seriously, ive seen alot of bullshit posts from you, but that one takes the cake. I promise i will ignore list you now, so we fill these boards with more rubbish fighting and i wont feel like im losing braincells every time im reading your ridiculous posts.

Have a good life, peabrain.

rocchi scored 7 in his debut serie a season

Amauri scored 14 in 40 in his first real season with Chievo

its a terrible indicator, you're just taking the best of the sample.

Those examples are terrible, Browha. There is a big difference as Rocchi played a lot of lower league football beforehand. How many 20 year olds in their first full season of top tier football score 8 goals like Icardi and Belfodil? Also, your numbers for Amauri are completely wrong, and he spent a long time in Serie B/C before his time in Serie A too

Amauri was a great player...for a little while. Rocchi was an above average wtriker.

Ah, sorry, I was looking at his seasonal goals + matches, rather than just league.

Anyway

I'm not against Icardi. I'm quite keen on him. I'm just pointing out Fappucinos stats are.... very biased.

You have a point, but the fact remains that most young strikers who performed well in their first full season in a top league typically go on to have a good career. Oba Oba is probably one of the few strikers who showed great promise at a young age and from the beginning who didn't kick on to any great degree.
