Icardi: 'I told Inter I want to stay'
By Football Italia staff

Mauro Icardi released a statement insisting he has “already told the club I intend to remain at Inter, because this is my family. Time will tell who told the truth.”

The striker was again in the headlines this morning, with La Gazzetta dello Sport claiming he had already agreed personal terms with Juventus.

“Seeing as recently the newspapers have reported stories that do not reflect my thoughts or my intentions, I want to inform our fans that I have already told the club several times that I intend to remain at Inter,” wrote Icardi on Instagram.

“So, from now on, there can be no misunderstandings of any kind. I understand the media has interest in selling fake stories, but I can do no more than clarify this personally.

“I repeat: I have already told Inter my desire to remain, because Inter is my family. Time will tell who told the truth. Forza Inter, always.”

Time already told you blackmailed Inter, shown no professionalism when the club stripped off the armband..

I'd take his word for it. There was no reason for him to write a message like this if he didn't actually want to stay.

Or if he's bluffing at the very least he's not making his value drop by showing signs that he really wants out.

But Tuttoshit and Corriere della Merda said he has agreed to join Juventus.

Good. Good. Have a stellar season next year and then we can sell your ass for a proper price next summer.

The real downside is that the transfer window got pushed to the old timeframe unlike last summer, meaning there will be a gap again before the window starts, meaning there will be a month's worth of bullshit exaggerated media "reports" to endure through before we see anything real happening.

Fucking Italian football.

Regarding Icardi, it's not out of reach that he in fact did negotiate with Juventus and that he is merely washing his hands from fans' outrage because he would genuinely prefer to stay in Inter in which case he didn't lie nor say anything wrong. Just food for thought.

Don't have one.
I think there is a big inconvenience from his side to move to another country with all the little kids he has, changing schools etc...plus wanda is pretty famous in italy, in another country nobody would give a shit about her... So that's probably the main reason for that statement.

Or maybe he already has an agreement with jube, but with this he is shifting responsibility for his eventual departure to our management, so he can afterwards say to the angry fans he didn't have any choice....:D

He can fuck off somewhere else, none of the top clubs will play exactly the same as us, feed him 24/7 each game.

That's a bit generous. It's more like attempt to feed him 24/7

Did you not watch the games where he didnt play? Our style was no different. Icardi isnt the problem in the team, i cant believe we still have to state this

Well, from what i saw, we played differently when we field Gagliardini, Brozovic, Nainggolan, Lautaro obviously without vecino and valero ruining our game.

Whatever he has done and however he is, he is still BETTER and MILES MORE CLINICAL than Lukaku ever was and ever will be. No comparison whatsoever. Selling him to get someone who thinks he is Adriano would be equal to the Cannavaro-Carini swap beautifully done by us back in 2004.

Sometimes you have to get rid of bad apples, even if, in your mind, it seems like downgrading. Just like Ibra was a God here and still it was one less celebrated striker that managed to do what Ibra can only dream of - Milito.

Lukaku ain't that bad, I'm just afraid that we'll just sell Icardi and bring Lukaku here without any other reinforcements, since we really, REALLY need more quality, especially up front. Just changing the striker won't help. I'm not risking another season of "HalfCommitedIcardi" either tho, so it could be a win win for us.

Truth to be told he would fit perfectly in United. There are no other team in Europe with so many primadonas.

I want Icardi to stay. I want him to be what Vieri was for Inter: a top goal scoring machine and a star player for the club. You don't have to be the captain to be that. A head of Vieri there were atleast Zanetti and Cordoba. He wasn't the team's leader. But he was still a top star and one of the highest earners.

Hopefully Icardi understands that captaincy and top star aren't mutual, but I don't think that he understands this given his recent actions and his dumbass agent.

I honestly don't think we can get a good offer out of his sale so I prefer him staying. He's still the best box player in the world and we aren't exactly stacked with brilliant players up front. He should also be given a new improved contract if he goes back to his usual form.

I'll never forget his goal against Tottenham. The guy can pull something out of nothing and only naturally gifted players can do that. The club should stop stacking garbage players around him because it only puts more pressure on him.

To be honest I’d prefer him to stay and we build around him. It’s better than going out looking for an unsure thing in attack, another reason being that I want to see what Suning does this market if he stays. Only because if he leaves, I have a feeling they’ll just look for a replacement and call it a day. Whereas if he stays, they would definitely be more inclined to invest in other areas of the team. I still look at our owners as slightly duplicitous in the way they’ve portrayed themselves, all we hear is numbers but we haven’t seen anything that substantially backs it up yet. Now that the settlement is done, they’re definitely on the clock. Let’s see...

Looking forward to summer #4 of Icardi is 100% leaving despite always saying he's happy here and wants to stay. See you in September Capitano.

The difference is this time he's played like garbage.
