I think it’s part of the mentality change around the club. Can’t sell him to Juve (unless in a Dybala swap) because we should be direct competitors for the Scudetto. Can sell him to Roma because we’re now a step above them, having finished above them last season and looking to improve further.

Whether that mentality becomes a reality remains to be seen.

Sad that they took away his number 9 too.

I dont know why but I had a slight hope he'd stay and eventually fight for his place and become starter.
Me too lol. Because let's be real, if he got another chance and went to score 25+ goals this season, people would love him again just as easily as they started to hate him.

That's just how it works, and no wonder, because who cares about his personal life or annoying traits if he delivers like that for the club - which is the only thing that matters in the end.

I have to say I'd feel more comfortable with this than with fuckin' Lukaku as our #9. And more comfortable with Lukaku + Icardi than with Lukaku + Lautaro/grandpa Dzeko. Swapping him for Dybala is the only thing that could ease the pain imo.

And what is AMOR? Second-tier Italian club? I think the world already know it, Wanda won't make a revelation.

Would thanks this post 10x if I could.

There are so many retarded comments here, but expected from the users who posted them. Also, giving Lukaku the #9 while Icardi is still here is super classless, regardless of what happened in the last 6 months. Treating a guy who made history with the club like dogshit in favor of a dude who hasn't even played a single minute is simply a trashy move. Even more trashier are the sheep who praise this move.
But faking an injury because you are butthurt like a 10 year old when the team needs you the most is not classless?

The guy is finished at Inter. Club informed him of that 100 times probably by now and Marotta went even public and open about it. What next? If Inter will not play him, but keep him on the bench/stands will also be classless? 😁

The club moved on. The problem is that icardi and apparently some fans did not.

Has ANYONE suggested that Icardi hasn't been classless?

Why the club needs to go to be classless if the player does it first?

When the team needs you the most. Loving this argument.

When the team needs you the most, it tells you "things will change for the better, just let this one slide". It doesn't publicly humiliate you for no reason. It doesn't kill your future at the club "when it needs you the most".

Inter did everything but show Icardi that he was badly needed at that point. A team that tells you to fuck off shouldn't beg you to play every game and then not even deny that you really are injured if it thinks you are faking it...

Brehme if you are trying to convince people that his injury was real, then you are more delusional than I thought.

No, I'm saying exactly what I'm saying. That the club did not rule out that Icardi was injured. That the club did not punish Icardi for "faking an injury". And the club never said that there's nothing wrong with him.

Maybe because they didn't want him to open his mouth about the whole debacle? You tell me. Fact remains that the club said nothing about Icardi's situation that clears the air.

First was the captaincy stripping out of the blue.
Then it was Marotta saying that the contract will be renewed.
Then Spalletti talking about Moratti's lawyer.
Then Marotta saying there is no issue with Icardi, just a knee injury.
Then Zanetti and Ausilio saying that the saga will come to a positive end soon.
Then Marotta and Spalletti acting as if nothing was wrong.
Then pre-season starts and Marotta says Icardi is out.

Now you tell me where you see the consistency of the management here and if this handling was decent.

You refuse to believe that Icardi was kicked out of the club. Then suit yourself. Everything we know leads to that.

Injury was most probably a minor one. Thing which can be said to be an injury but one which he has played with for the whole season. Remember the wording of Inter's statement. The statement didn't categorically deny an injury.

It was a bit petty attitude by the club to release the statement and make all that shit public like that. Why not just fine Icardi for refusing to play? The club did nothing. Why?

I'm like over with this Icardi thing but there's always someone like Luka coming in and trying to justify every bit of act the club does or has done. And then I can't stop myself commenting.

That's not going to happen. First there will be a 100 page debate on whether this should go to LGI or Former players, or make a new category of Assholes.

Then we will have shit being posted here whenever he has another kid, or Wanda talks some nonsense, or him posting nudes on Insta, or hidden symbolism in everything he does, or when he scores for Juve, or when he gets snubbed by the Argentine coach, or when he writes his next book, or ..

.. or scores a goal in Inter and celebrates like crazy and his wife gives the finger to Marotta in the stands while his Interisti kids cry in anguish.

"AMOR" might be "LOVE" in Spanish iirc.

I can just do the guessing here, but so can you. And if you were management think about what you could gain by fining him? Like 100 000k of some extra money? And then this psycho and his wife sue Inter and we are dragged into a long (probably) law case where things can go either way. He probably, like Cafe said, had/has some minor injury but so do thousands of other professional football players, but they play through those injuries. But a judge can see it both ways and if he does, who has the most to gain here by Inter fining him which I'm sure and Marotta knew it too will happen afterwards? The club who will earn some pocket money, or a player who can free himself from his current club and then sign for whatever club he wants while being a free client which also would result shit lot of more money than if he was signed from Inter?

Hard to see the logic in it, right? My guess is that the club didn't do it because they didn't want to get this psycho to sue is and potentially win in 50/50 case.

I'm like over with this Icardi thing but there's always someone like Luka coming in and trying to justify every bit of act the club does or has done. And then I can't stop myself commenting.
Cafe, you know perfectly well since you are with me here for a long time, that I had my share of criticizing the management a lot before. It's not that I'm always on the side of the management, however I do like Marotta and the way he works and what he's trying to do at Inter, I've always said it.

ps. Commenting is fine ;)

It's so dumb to deny the effort and the work that Icardi has put here. He has saved us shitload of times. Yes, he fucked it up at the end but putting up a video of his misses and calling him shit is beyond retarded.

What retarded was, calling no service from teammate when he is the one that failed to bury the chances he got.
How many chances again he screwed to convert it to goal? Shitload of times.

From being the captain and trying to be top goal scorer in the league, to having your number taken away from you; that's some fucking story.

I think Roma might be the perfect club for him. While Icardi is absolutely great at some things, he is just too limited to be a top player for a top club. At Roma, he could be the big fish and have a reasonable career with no pressure of winning, and get to do all the crazy shit that Wanda wants. A bigger club won't let him do that.
