We'll know more after a few weeks or even months about the outgoing cases, but we know for sure that these are our main targets.
Scamacca, Bremer and Frattesi.
The idea of Frattesi as a starter is a bit scary, since that leaves Barella the odd one out with Brozo signing a new deal and Hakan being unsellable with that contract. Unless he's coming here only to compete with Hakan.
Figures are approximates of course and I know I've made a similar post with probably different numbers, whatever, it's mostly rounding up issues and using different sources
De Vrij is out. We just don't know where and what this gives us. 7m gross.
Perisic is 90% out. 9.5m
Vidal is out. 8.5m
Handanovic probably stays with 40-50% pay cut. From 6m to 3m.
Vecino is out. 4.5m
D'Ambrosio probably stays with the same salary. 3.5m
Ranocchia probably stays with the same salary. 3m
Sensi probably says his goodbyes now and remains to be seen if Sampdoria is his next permanent team or he goes somewhere else in the summer, don't see us keeping him. 3m
Kolarov is having a farewell party. 3m.
Sanchez is very likely to have his last year cancelled, unless perhaps he gets the Perisic deal (4m for 2 more years rather than 7m in one, or 4m to leave). At the moment, it's 9m gross.
Cordaz is irrelevant but let's assume he stays. 300k.
Radu may be sold, at the very least loaned out. 1.5m
Pinamonti probably gets sold to Torino or Sassuolo. 3m.
Esposito either gets included in our transfer deals or gets loaned to a Serie A club. 1m gross I think?
Satriano probably gets loaned out. 500k.
Brazao definitely gets loaned out as there's no market for him since he doesn't play. 300k?
Colidio probably gets sold. 500k?
Dzeko I assume will stay whatever happens, but I leave the door open in case we offload but Sanchez and him if we manage to get a big deal like Dybala. 9.5m gross.
We're spending ~140m on contracts. Gross that is. Let's assume that next season our budget will be capped at 125m (10% reduction), in order to keep up with the new loan payments we took and general pay cuts, since we cannot predict sponsorship money and even attendance figures due to fucking covid that makes the government changes the rules for stadiums every 3 weeks.
From offloading De Vrij, Perisic, Vidal, Vecino, Sensi, Kolarov, Radu, Pinamonti, Esposito, Satriano, Brazao and Colidio, while considering that Handanovic reduction with Brozovic extension comes at the same cost, we are turning our ~140m expenditure to: ~100m.
Onana will be making something like 4.5m gross, with the tax decree.
Gosens will be making slightly under 5.5m gross.
That's 110m already.
Scamacca will probably come with 2.5-3m net salary, so similar to Gosens, let's say 5m gross.
Bremer is coming with a 3m gross deal iirc.
Frattesi probably something similar, so let's say 3m gross as well.
That's 121m for: 3 goalkeepers, 6 center backs (including Dimarco and D'Ambrosio), 3 wing backs, 5 central midfielders and 5 forwards. 22 players.
We'll just need a backup WBL and a backup MC. And there may be an additional roster spot but reserved for a club trained player. We'll only have Cordaz and Dimarco iirc. I'm not sure if Bastoni counts. If Bastoni does not count, we'll need one of those backups to be club trained if we want a 25m roster, so we're looking at the likes of Biraghi or Faraoni/Zappa (Darmian to the left or something) and the likes of Marco Benassi or Daniel Bessa for the midfield spot.
Bastoni definitely counts in UEFA [
Club-trained players players who were on a club's books for three years between the ages of 15 and 21.]
and you can use a B list for younger players (who completed 1 season already occupying a regular spot), but I'm not sure if Serie A rules are the same.
I think these backups can be had with just 4-5m gross salary. And it may be even less, since we're going to extend Skriniar's contract as well, I guess with at least 2m more gross, so make that 2-3m gross salary for the two spots.
If Sanchez leaves, that takes us 115m, ignoring the cost of letting him go, but in need of another forward, probably a higher profile one. But we may also be stuck with the roster selection, so it may have to be Pinamonti, Esposito or someone like Destro. If we do have the capacity for a bigger player there, from 115m gross we can maybe reach current levels with a player whose salary is 15m gross (so ~11m net from abroad or ~8m net from Italy), but we don't seem to have the financial capacity for such a transfer.
If our budget is capped at a 10% reduction from current levels, then we'll just have room for 10m gross, meaning ~7m net from abroad and ~5m net from Italy).
The only candidates in attack are: Mbappe (lol), Dybala, Belotti, Luis Suarez, Cavani,Kramaric (meh), Lacazette (meh), Origi, Mertens (unlikely to leave), Dost (meh), Slimani (meh) and a few other names that are probably even worse than the meh ones.
So essentially we could swap Sanchez with an apparent upgrade in Dybala if we can have this new roster spot, or get a veteran like Cavani and Suarez. If we want to keep our budget at the same level.
If we want to reduce it and keep it in line with a 10% reduction, it's the likes of Belotti, Origi or some other scrub.
I've only included free agents here as they're the ones that make sense to force Sanchez out.
I'd much rather keep Alexis for a year, no matter the cost. If he takes a reduction similar to what we may offer Perisic, that takes our budget from 123m to 120m and leaves us ~5m for the two spots, maybe a +1 spot if we sort the club trained quota issues.
So yeah, another block of text about our near future. This by the way, is something like the best case scenario...
