I think he is also our 6th midfielder, he could play in the DM role in the games where we would need some extra steel in our midfield.

I think his results and performances are awesome so far but what really impresses me is his attitude and his engagement. This team has seen its share of bums, who may be talented but have a shitty attitude and a miserable temperament. It is refreshing to see a guy out there on the pitch who is always engaged, never takes plays off, seems intense AF and seems so plugged in during the game. Its sad that this can't be the expectation from every player but with players like kdog and brozo out there, we shouldn't take this particular trait of skriniar for granted.

It's very difficult to stop Mertens every time, but he did it very well a number of times. He was a beast in the second half.

On current form, he's up there with the best defenders in Serie A, if not the best atm.
Lost a couple of duels, but that's to be expected against good opposition like Napoli.
I love how he never makes panic clearances, that we are so accustomed to see from our defenders. Against high-pressing side like Napoli, it's even more evident. Always look to keep the attack going. Valuable mentality to have. Yes, it's going to lead to 1-2 mistakes, but the upside is far greater.
