Pretty sure Vidal will play instead of Eriksen.

You’re probably right and I’m not totally against Vidal starting if he was 100% fit. But he’s not and I just like the added creativity that Eriksen can bring to our midfield and to set pieces. He was working hard defensively against Lazio too. He’ll never be mistaken for Makelele or Gattuso in the defensive phase but he’s putting the effort in.

I went to Milan forum and they seem to be really worried about this game. According to them they haven’t been convincing much lately and their latest record in all competitions is 4 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. Apparently Milan have been playing possession football lately as opposed to counter attacking football of earlier.

This means this is our chance to demolish them! They are obviously worried and should be more nervous about this game than us. They lost to a bottom table team and we just beat Lazio convincingly. It’s no secret that Milan still believe in the title and their January signings confirmed it. To them this should be the title decider game. So realistically we should be more relaxed after beating Lazio and going on top of the table.

Milan need a win so naturally they have to attack so we just need to relax, do what we do best which is sit back and try to counter and bury their dreams of winning the title!

So this is it! There should be no excuse for not winning this!

Milan don't necessarily need a win. Even a draw wouldn't be a tragedy for them. They would just be one point behind and they would still be ahead in case of a tiebreak.

This is a must win for so many reasons. Our confidence, comfortable distance from our rivals and putting pressure on them who will also be tired from European matches. This match is crucial for Scudetto race.

Eriksen Brozo playing together , we need that unpredictabilty, their passing ranges are world class, its not just Brozo they have to mark out. Im 99% sure Pioli is scared right now and he chooses countering , he knows Conte will come out pressuring the F out like Spezia did ( its derby, course we are)

Milan has a hard stretch of games coming. EL> 3days later DERBY> EL>3days later @Roma>@Hellas>Napoli

We need to break their confidence with a convincing win and they will collapse

I would love to see us escape from Juve and Milan. There is a good possibility it could happen but we first need to win the Derby. And i anwyway have a feeling that this scudetto race will have a favorite in some weeks. It's rare to see 2-3 teams fighting for the first place till the end, i don't think it will happen. Someone will go +6 sooner or later. Hopefully Inter. Without CL/EL we have a good chance to make it..

Since he arrived, Lukaku has scored in every derby. All we need is just his voodoo.

P.S: Kolarov troll Zlatan to red card again would be awesome.

You keep repeating this Vodoo nonsense and I don't find it funny but rather offensive! If our own fans joke with this shit then can we blame our enemies?

Very good point here. I also forget that Milan are having the h2h advantage, so basically they are only 0.5 points below atm, not 1 point.

We need a win to get 4.5 POINTS ahead.

I don't think a tie is so good for Milan. They are only 9 points ahead of Napoli, Lazio and Atalanta which is nothing with 15 games to go. With their honeymoon about to end, they need points not only for the title race but also to stay at top 4.
Same applies to Inter but imo we are better in terms of squad depth, individual quality, experience and team's cohesively.
For me Roma, Napoli, Lazio, Juventus and Atalanta also are generally better than Milan and have better chances to finish above them.

I think, other than the three points obviously, the biggest victory of last night was Barella, Brozovic, and Bastoni all not picking up yellows.

Barella and Brozovic especially have been holding themselves back for about 4 games, limbs are flying within 10 minutes of this game starting

To win the Scudetto they need to be first and after being on top of the table for so long I'm guessing they want to get back on top as soon as possible to not lose momentum.

All I'm saying is that to me it seems psychologically Milan need this win more than us. I'm expecting them to come out firing on all cylinders and wanting to go for an early goal to relieve some pressure. That's why I think the key to a win in this match for us is a proper counter attacking football. Conte needs to get this right!

If they lose again on Sunday they would get into a panic mode.

They led the table for so long, because they got 8-9 more penalties than any other team in the league. For fucks sake they are SEVENTH in open play goals, on par with Sassuolo. Them being on top for so long was a farce, an illusion. They are massively overachieving, similarly to Man United in the Prem. In fact they don't even deserve to qualify for Champions League, not even Europa League, but the Confernece League and I am not even being facetious.

Don't have one.

I actually think they are pretty solid defensively. Its one thing to have that many penalties but its completely different thing to hold on to the lead they get from those penalties, plus their movement around the opponents box is also tricky with one-two passes of hakan, ibra and theo.

But in general i agree, they are massively overachieving and it showed against spezia and many other games this season. They have huge problems when opponent is pressing them. Spezia pressed them for 80 min, they barely had a shot on goal, it was fuckin embarrassing...

Probably one of the most pessimist here in FIF when it comes to big games, but I have a good feeling about this. I hope our defence is gonna be as tight as it was against Lazio, can't be letting a 39y.o walk all over us every single goddamn game.

Fair point. I just checked their defensive stats and they have the highest tackles per game and 2nd least conceded goals from open play, but they are giving away too many goals from set pieces and we are one of the better teams in scoring from them. So maybe stop with the fucking short corners and make use of our many players with good heading ability. I would rank them 4th defensively behind us, Juve and Napoli. I actually think besides being the most scoring team, we are also currently the best defensive team, even though we have 24 GA and Juve and Napoli have less, with 19 and 21 respectively. The thing with us, is that our goals conceded are heavily lopsided towards the beginning of the season with 15 GA in the first 11 league games vs just 9 GA in the last 11 and just one in the last 5 games.

Apparently Bastoni has never played Milan derby ever since he joined us.

19/20: Milan-Inter 0-2 = On the bench, hasn’t been introduced to the starting line up yet.
19/20: Inter-Milan 4-2 = Suspended. Godin was RCB and Skriniar LCB.
20/21: Inter-Milan 1-2 = COVID positive.
20/21: Inter-Milan 2-1 (Coppa) = On the bench.

Can't say for sure that we'll win the scudetto if we win this game, but I know Milan will be out of it. Worth 3 pts for that alone.

We play against Juventus during the 2nd last game of the season. We need to hold a steady lead at the top until then. Anything but a win isn't good enough.
