I honestly do not know how anyone could possibly say that Bobo was simply effective and reliable.
Vieri was awesome to watch. He was a real bomber. And the best part was that when the ball went up front, he was always there and knew how to take his chances. I watch footage of him today and his strength, heading and finishing for a such a tall player absolutely blow me away. Loved watching him! An all time Inter great!
My other candidates are Ronaldo, Recoba and Adriano. In relation to Ronaldo he made things happen and could do it all. When he had the ball at his feet, you knew that there was nothing that was too hard or impossible. He was explosive and was such a pleasure to watch. There has been no one like him since and players like Ronaldo are very few and far between. Also an Inter Legend!
I am not sure if you guys saw it, but before our game with Sampdoria, there was a YouTube video of the last 11 of so minutes of the game against Sampdoria at the Meazza when we came back from 0-2 to win it 3-2 in the last 10 minutes. That game is one of my favourite Inter matches of all time: all the passion and emotions, the goal celebrations, pure and unbridled joy! I watched the last 10 minutes of that game again and the way Recoba used to pull the strings and thread passes with his beautiful left foot was fantastic to watch. His set pieces and his ability to strike the ball from distance were second to none. I loved him at Inter and loved him for Uruguay. Words can not describe his left foot. I often wish that Recoba could have played forever.
And then there was Adriano. When I think of him, all that comes to mind is brute force and power. I remember when he was on loan at Parma and Fiorentina, I followed his every match and the anticipation I had for when he would return home to Inter was immeasurable. Adriano was very exciting to watch: Il Emparatore was such a fitting name! His ability to control the ball, and left foot were devastating. Sadly, my next thought when it comes to Adriano is often what could have been.
They well and truly do not make players like this anymore. When I think about the strikers we have had in the past, what really stands out is that we had some football greats. No disrespect to our current players, who are acceptable for what football is today, but they absolutely have nothing on the likes of Vieri, Ronaldo, Recoba and Adriano. Our current strikers could play until they are 100 years old and would never hone their skills or reach the heights of these players.
And that is one thing that really bothers me about Suning. Inter is a club renowned for having extraordinary/Legend players on their books. But in football today, we are just making up the numbers: every player has a price and Suning, no matter who the player is, is willing to sacrifice them and their legacy. In this regard, I am talking about the likes of Bastoni, Barella, Skriniar or Lautaro. It is absolutely disgusting.
