As most of the posters here like to give their MOTM after each game in the match thread I thought it would be a good idea to have a MOTM thread. Now, you could use a system where a mod just makes a poll a la Interfans and have everyone vote after each match, but that takes a bit of work, and I'm not too sure a mod would be up for it after each game.

I propose a different system which I've stolen with permission and a promise of promotion if I used it, from Han: no forums allowed, that I found really interesting.

How it works is that after each match anyone that wants to vote gives their top 3 players in order, and they are assigned points. 4 points for the MOTM, 2points for the 2nd place and 1 point for the 3rd place. After all the votes have been counted up the player with the most number of total points gets the MOTM for that specific match and also gets 4 points for the overall leaderboard. The second player get's 2 point for the leaderboard and so on. If two or more players get the same number of points for a match, the player with the most number of MOTM votes get's the MOTM and the 4 points for the leaderboard. If two or more players gets the same amount of points and the same amount of MOTM votes(never happens) then the most "second" votes are counted. If they still can't be divided then oth player will get the MOTM but split the points between them.

Let's say that I want to cast my votes for Inter-Dynamo.

I'd simply write:

Inter-Dynamo.

1. Sneijder
2. Stankovic
3. Samuel

Please write 1 for the player you think is the MOTM, 2 for who you thought was the second best player and 3 for the player you thought did the third best.

Now people could vote for the MOTM for the Dynamo match untill the next match starts. Simple as that. By the end of the season all the points will be counted up and we'll have a FI foums player of the year. I realize it's a little late to start a good bit into the season but it's better late then never.

Since I barely have time to log in anymore due to studies and RL stuff, I'd be more than happy to take on the resposibilty of counting the votes and making sure eveything goes down right. It will give me a reminder to log in more often.

Thx, but you have to give 3 votes Khaled, otherwise iv'e been told it screws up the system. Any votes without three players therefore won't be counted.

A poll is so unexciting though. It's insta-results. This system is a bit more suspensefull. Also if you have a poll you have to count up all the votes for all the players in every match and keep records. That's a lot more work. I'm fine with the idea if that's what people want, but In that case I don't want to run it. I don't have that much free time.

Enough with all the Adam-is-a-traitor posts. If you think that he is one, take it privately and spare us from the bullshit. Until Adam eplicitly say that he is no longer an Interista we should respect him as one. What's wrong with him still liking Ibra and joining the Barca forum? When Martins left for Newcastle, I supported them and also support Inter, does that make me a traitor? If Zanetti left us and joined Real Madrid and we support RM, does that make us a traitor? A little bit of fun banter here and there is perfectly fine but excessive ones is just disrespectful.

So once again, if you have a beef against Adam, take is offline and spare us from the bullshit.

Why would I need to count any votes?? If I add a poll the system does it by it self.

Stefan, I think whoever creates the match thread should just add a poll to it with all the players called up for that match. Even better, only allow the mods to open up match threads, because I know you guys won't forget to add the poll like some us us will...
