That's truly pathetic if true, but at the same time, if anyone owes us a favor, it's Cagliari. If we didn't give them our rejects for almost nothing, they would be in seria b by now. Also, nandez only wants inter so they better find some solution...

Nandez is the most valuable player of Cagliari and if they're ready to accept a loan with option with 5 mln fee is already a favour towards us.

It's really pathetic if true and we don't have even 5 mln euro for transfer budget. We already sold Hakimi and I expected that at least 15-20 mln euro will be reinvested to a new player. Moreover, we are Champions of Italy, so the supporters deserve new player - I don't expect Pogba or Mbappe, but at least Nandez. And it's a bit unfair towards Simone Inzaghi to not equip him with new wingback.
By the way, check how much Parma which was relegated to Serie B, spent this summer - 30 mln euro.

can someone explain to me what role Nandez fills for us? I had assumed RWB, but we're still chasing Bellerin apparently?

According to the media, Inzaghi mostly sees him as a Vidal replacement but the fact Nandez can also play as a rwb is an added bonus as Inzaghi has asked for a rwb asap and the other cases for rwb (e.g. Dumfries, Bellerin) aren't expected to get finalized soon.

lol dude, we already sent Dalbert their ways for free and are negotiating a golden handshake with 9golan so he can join them. At some point enough is enough and you have to stand your ground, otherwise the fee will become 10m comes tomorrow.

Let's hope the deal with Dumfries will never be finalized.
I don’t really get the Dumfries hate especially when you look at who else we’re linked to. I think especially with Dimarco on the left having someone a big stronger and more physical would be good. He can also provide a backpost aerial threat which is something none of our wingbacks really excel at.

I'm not sure that's something that's supposed to help our negotiating leverage.

I am not sure it's a one way street as some of you try to define it. Yes they are helping us get rid of trash, and some of those players aren't exactly inter level, but you have to look at it through their lenses as well. They only care for survival in seria a and one or two dalbert sprints or assists, godin overall solid defensive performance like last year, could literally mean the difference between staying or going down, and again that's all they care for. It's not exactly worthless stuff coming from the team that barely made it last year.

All these smaller teams don't care for continuity of performances which lets face it none of those mentioned players have, those types of players cost money. They need players who stand out a bit with their characteristics, dalbert with his speed, naingolan with his physical presence, godin experience at the highest level... At the end, it adds up and differentiates them from teams like crotone or benevento who didn't have none of that last year.

According to GdS, Nandez is close to Inter as Cagliari have accepted Inter's offer of 5m loan with option to buy for the player.

Interesting to see what the option will be.

I would like that we manage to include Pinamonti and Nainggolan someway to this deal.

Agreed, definitely prefer to have pinamonti go there but i want agoume to go to a slightly worse club so he can get more time

Now to see is he for midfield or wing back role. Honestly, I don't think even our management knows right now. It's probably for both positions if we don't have any openings for another rwb.

Bingo.

I think it’s actually a pretty smart play the more I think about it. We are now technically covered for that position so we don’t have to feel as pressured to sign a RWB. We will for sure keep trying to the end of the mercato but it takes leverage away from the other team when they know we want a wingback but don’t necessarily “need” a wingback.

Most likely Arsenal/PSV or whoever will not be open to loan deals until the last weeks of the market. It would be too big of a risk for us to wait until the end and have no cover. That’s when clubs dig in their heels and hold firm. They still might but at least now we have a legitimate option even if he’s not a natural fullback.

Yeah, it's interesting however regarding the midfield. If we pursue that RWB in late August, are we going to ship Vecino out if RWB pursuit works?

Vidal seems to be on his way out anyway. Giving away Vecino would mean our midfield would include these names: Brozovic, Gagliardini, Agoume, Barella, Sensi, Nandez :D (yeah, I'm referring to the height)

But anyway, it's a good situation to have the backup plan and thus we remove the necessity from our approach to the mercato (regarding RWB spot).

Not sure if he's considered Rwb or Midfielder, either way smart move by our management given our shitty financials.

You forgot Çalhanoğlu. I also highly doubt we keep Agoume unless Inzaghi is very impressed. Realistically he is still not good enough for Inter.

Nandez coming could potentially allow us to play with a 2 in midfield in emergencies (when Brozo is suspende). Both he and Barella have the legs to make it work, theoretically.

Something like:

Perisic - Lukaku - Alexis
Dimarco - Nandez - Barella - Darmian
Bastoni - De Vrij - Skriniar
