Ibarbo doesn't offer much other than speed. He's able to get past players at times but he's also clumsy, not creative, can't assist and can't shoot at all.

That's good enough in PES and FIFA.

As for Juan's case, I can still forgive him for these fuck ups as the current games doesnt really count, we basically have no hope for 3rd place at this point so any games we play in the league atm are for making young players gain match experience. So basically we are investing in our young inexperinced players by allowing them to play a lot of games. Next year though, there will be a slaughter house for mistakes like these, so they better grow up by June.

The problem is that Juan hasn't improved at anything since he got here, his tackling and physicality are as good as they were when he got here; his weaknesses, positioning, tactical awareness, etc have actually gotten worse. And unlike other past youngsters he doesn't have the excuse of giving him enough time or minutes, he has gotten tons of playing time for 3 seasons now.

When is he gonna show some improvement? It's not like we're expecting him to become worldclass immediately, but he arguably has actually gotten worse.

I actually think 3 years of consistent playing with little competition as been a problem for his development.

Actually we might have said the same if he have had competition and therefor was giving less playing time, then we'd blame his inconsistency or even the so called regression on "lack of playing time" for hindering for his progress.

A top club playing with two relatively very young CBs has it's price, if they were playing for a lesser club their mistakes would probably be swiftly overlooked and though there would have been lesser pressure on their shoulder, and with some faith given to them from the coach and fans, this is the combination that really help players to develop at this precise young age. But this is Inter, and it could be applied to every young prospect we had but never succeeded here, their destiny seems to be similar, and I think now we know why.

We have already given up all of our experienced players who might have lifted some of the pressure from the young ones, but it was an act of a circumstance, we had to say goodbye and I do not disagree with letting them go. But the price was severe and I'm afraid we'll be suffering more failures for another year, and maybe more.

So we might just give more faith to our young players, hell even for twats like Ranocchia who everyone fully know how much I despise, because to be completely honest with you peeps, we have no other realistic choice.
