Okay in this thread a master of American football aka NFL (National Football League) will try to explain to you Aussies, East Asians, Euros, South Americans, whatever you are, all about a great sport.

First Rule: NO bashing, only ASKING!

:D :D :D

I'll answer any questions, plus give you a simple explanation of rules!

Possibly some playoff picks, some discussion!

First the rules.

Basically, you have to score more points than the other team. There are a few stages of the game. You can be on offense, trying to score points by taking the ball all the way to the end of the field OR kicking the ball through the uprights....or you can be on defense and try to prevent the other team from scoring and get the ball back for your OWN OFFENSE....and then there's a kickoff, which is done in the beginning of each half and after a score, a way of giving the ball back to the other team after you score....

Bloody Steelers won, oh God do I hate them after what they've done to Carson Palmer. :frustrat:

I hope my favorite Panthers tear apart the Bears or this NFL day will be completely ruined for me.

Man ohh man..in my years of watching football, never have I seen a last minute run out the clock turn into a fumble and a change of the game...WOW

Steve Smith catches a great pass for a long TD

Panthers are up...

PS: Merge this with the NFL thread I made earlier!

Their "Let's tear the opponents QB's leg to parts" style? :yuck:

The only guy I like from that team is Bettis, he's a role model for anyone.

no need to tell me anything since I have been following NFL the last 6 years or so. ;)

One thing is for Sure I hope Steelers get their ass kicked, man I hate that team. :boxing: any of the remaining 4 I wouldn't mind winning the Super Bowl.

But I'm hoping for Panthers, maybe it's because the remind me the most of my team. with a very strong defence and a controlled offensive.

GO PANTHERS.

then you are going to wait a long time, those two teams are the worst of them all. look at the bright side your teams are some of the first to pick in the draft. I think 49'ers have the 7'th pick and raiders have the 6'th pick. while San Diego have 19'th pick.

And there are some promising names such as running back Reggie Bush, quarterback Vince Young, running back LenDale White.

is it just me or have the referees been horrible in those play off games. some of the calls have been ridicules bad.

I just hope me team have less injuries next season and strengthening our throw defence (I'm not sure what it's called in English it's translated from danish  ). Then I think we can go all the way. the only problem is that we are one of the last team to pick in the draft nr. 21 or 22, so we always end up with some mediocre once. luckily for us our coach is an expert in turning them into world class.

U forgot someone who'll be at the draft, some guy named Matt Leinart. ;)

The next season could be huge for weaker teams since there'll be lots of talent up for grabs at the draft, just imagine the first picks: Reggie Bush, Vince Young, Matt Leinart, LenDale White.
The first 4 teams get star college players, so there shud be some changes in next seasons power polls.

49ers? Well, they were unlucky this year when Leinart opted to stay another year in college, thus leaving the 9ers having to pick QB Smith as 1/1, who hasn't been much of an impact.

The Raiders? I think they should get a decent team together in 2 years time, it's starting to form already, it's just that they haven't found the right man to some key positions yet.

The Chargers clearly show that having 3 star players (Tomlinson, Gates, Brees) is not enough in the NFL, they didn't really work as a team this season. I hope they get it together, cuz I like them too.

Saviours: Who's "your team"? Btw, it's called pass defense.

p.s. PANTHERS FAN FOREVER :D

NY Jets fan here.

Laugh it up assholes :D

no it's not even funny, cause everything can happen in the NFL. you might qualify to the play offs you'll never know, just look at this season how many thought that Chicago would win their group nobody except their own fans. the same goes for Bengals. I don't want to laugh since Patriots might end with a 4-12 record, NFL is so unpredictable that is why it's so interesting it's not like football where you almost can say who is going to win the local championship.
