Yeah, just in final there were multiple cases when Barella expects Dumfries to position correctly and he was nowhere to be seen. Dumfries' ability to read the game seems to be lacking a bit. Our playing style is very demanding in terms of positioning, players need to be wake up all the time to be in correct places.Dumfries, has 2 things going for him. Speed and physicality in the air. Outside of that he's...not good. How many times have people complained about Barella, throwing his arms up in the air. They don't realize that he expects Dumfries to support him or make a run. In reality, he's stagnant, doesn't move the ball forward and he's no Hakimi in pace.
Had Hakimi been on the field instead of Dumfries, we win that game easily. Hakimi is a much more intelligent player and near the end of the year he was actually pretty solid defensively, using his speed to close down players. Barella plays SOOOO much better when he knows he has a WB he can trust and can read the game.
