should move on, wasting his career here.
Based on what? Just becuase he's better than Vecino and Hakan doesn't mean he's too good for Inter. Nkunku has 6 goals, 4 in UCL. That's an Inter level player. Let barella carry us on his back if he's so good.

Not saying the whole truth there though as Nkunku is a striker in the new RB system, so pretty much incomparable

He plays further forward but still plays in midfield (for an ultra attacking team). My point is "impact". Saying Barella is too good for us implies he's been carrying us, which he hasn't been doing. He's definitely doing his thing but he's hasn't been dominant. Still room for growth.

Its not easy to dominate when you have Vecino or Gags in that midfield tridenta.

But it's systematic of FIF to hype our players and out of nowhere exalt them to top 5 status in the their respective roles. On the NT stage Barella is easily behind Donnarumma, Chiesa, Jorginho, Veratti and Bonucci in terms of quality/importance. He has the tools but he isn't there yet, not until he shows up at the highest level on a consistent basis. Bastoni too, he's not a good man marker and is sloppy defensively but they way he gets lauded on FIF you'd think he's among the most dominant CBs in the game. Lets see him mark Muller out of a game first before thumping our chests. These next two UCL games are going to be very telling.

Explain please why would Barella line up behind Donna and Chiesa. Ok kinda agree about other three, they have reached CL finals, won leage titles and etc, i.e have the experience.

Both were among best performers in the euros. This is not a knock against Barella, its just that I think we should temper our praise a tad. Saying things like he should leave because he's too good for Inter is simply wrong to me.

I think Italy won the Euros as a team without any player standing out. Spinazzola was one of the surprise players, but we all know he is a mediocre player in a longer distance. Barella on the hand is a much more consistent player and proves his worth everywhere (Cagliari, Inter, NT). So is Chiesa, Donna, but I can't rate them higher than Nico. I think they are somewhat equal quality/importance wise

Agree on the bold part

Lets put it this way, Donna and Chiesa are irreplacable to the NT, Barella can be benched by Pellegrini. In fact, given current form, I'd start Pellegrini alongside Veratti and Jorginho.

That's just your opinion. For Mancini Barella is irreplacable. Even in Euro he started in 6 out of 7 games while Chiesa started the tournament as a backup and he became a starter after group stage.

Not the best night to critique Chiesa...

Hennyway, Chiesa earned his spot with the NT, won 2 MOTM and carried Italy some games.

As for midfield, certainly Barella is behind Veratti and Jorgihno in the pecking order. His durability guarantees him a spot but with Pellegrini starting the season with a bang things might well change.

It isn't a critic for Chiesa. It's a fact. Till recently he wasn't a starter for Italy.

As for midfield, you're comparing players with different characteristics. Jorgihno and Verratti have different roles compared to Barella. It's not one or the other. Barella is a definite starter for Italy because he's the only one who can bring dynamism to their midfield which makes him irreplaceable in Italy's midfield. As things stand, Mancini prefers him over all the other midfielders.

I didn't watch Pellegrini, but looking at the stats in serie A, it doesn't look like he is outperforming Nico. If Pellegrini is that good then we should sign him at any cost.

doesn't matter. Given current form and euro performance he's one of the first names on the team sheet, before Barella.

Because of durability not because he has carried the NT Italy on his shoulders as Donna, Chiesa, Jorginh, Veratti have done.

Durability is part of the carrying. Barella is an engine which never stops and his pressing game is impressive and absolutely crucial compared to Jorginho and Verratti.

I mean okay, engine stops when it stops (Barella is usually subbed out) but still Mancini always wants that engine to start the match.

No way Pellegrini subs Barella. Hell i even think Mancio would rather replace Veratti than Barella. Barella is the engine no other player has in Italy. His movement and his energy is something that makes him irreplaceable.

Possibly, but only because Veratti is fragile as fuck. But Veratti remains one of the genuinely world class players in this italy squad, (when 100% fit). Reason I'd consider Pellegrini over Barella is because he's more of a threat in the final 1/3rd than Barella or any other Italian midfielder.

His final ball has improved a ton this year, now we just need to work on his shooting. Should have opened the scoring today with that chance at the top of the box. Also had another good chance on the volley.
