Damn... Injured on his first match for Newcastle... He wasn't playing so well until the injurie, but it was his first match. He will get better, he will get know eachother with Duff and will work great. I just hope he will be OK.

As I told my friend he has not sustained a serious injury yet which would worry me as a Newcastle fan. Hopefully he is alright I may not like him but I want him to do well and be healthy

Javier Zanetti,
Poor Oba, first match in Newcastle jersey, he's already injured. they said that he had a severe dead leg which might keep him out for two weeks ( reported by SkySports). Get well soon, Oba!

The good thing is that there is an international break now and the next Toon game is two weeks away, Glenn havs already said that Oba will make the next game (Fulham @ Saint James Park).

He looked good today, but he will be a completely different player along side Ameobi who is a perfect partner for him.

Oba is a Geordie la la la la...

I look forward to watching Newcastle games this season. Tough luck for Oba in his debut but good to hear it's not serious.

Stupidity from Glenn.

Anybody knows Oba cant play as a lone striker. ESPECIALLY when its his first game and he hasnt even settled yet. Alongside Ameobi will be better, but I dont know Oba needs time and service.

I also think that Oba wasn't put at his best. I agree with Hal he is not a lone striker... But he wasn't lone striker, Duff was put as second striker, not his best position too... Bad tactics from Newcastle...

Good luck to Oba. Who knows? Maybe he'll end up back here in the future, cuse I know that he'll become a superstar onthe world stage. Or atleast one of the top strikers in Europe. I'll check out newcastle matches occasionally too. Now I guess FSC will actually serve some purpose lol.

Newcastlle have so unballanced team, they have so potentiall in atack but defence is awfull.
With better manager and selling one winger(Luqe,Dyer) and buying one class defender that would look much better.

Oba was unlucky to get himself injured on his debut. I hope he'll recover in time for the next match day.

Oba needs sometime to adopt to the English game after playing in the Italian championship for so long. Still I don't think that he'll be able to score 20 or 25 goals a season.

Would rather sell Luque than Dyer, Dyer is a class act When he's fit. Luque doesnt look interested at all and needs to be shipped off back to spain, hopefully in exchange for someone better.

The less said about our current full backs the better, on is a laxidaysical Nigerian and the other is a No neck Irish troll midget geezer. Ideally we need to ship them both out but realisticlly we will probably only get one which will be a left back as RB Steven Carr is probably the lesser of the two evils.

Its looking hopeful for us to get LB Wayne Bridge, once Ashley Cole goes to Chelski.

We need one top defender and it looks like Woody may be on his way back. Although he is another injury ridden player, kept fit he is one of the best defenders in the league and certinly the best defender i have seen play in a black and white shirt. Then the other Centre back position can alternate between Craig Moore who is a solid no frills defender who showed his quality at the WC and Steven Taylor a 20 year old CB who has come up through the youth ranks and is going to be a star, he has captined Engalnd at every level except senior. He is still a bit raw atm but with a bit of maturity will show his class in the next few years.

Yes man, Dyer is class, good job by selling rubish Bowyer from the team.
Parker is fine but he and Emre in pure 442 system can't work, lack of stamina and phisicall strenght.
And that fullbacks are prety bad, especially Carr so that's alot job to do, big mistake is selling Jenas. I hope you can bring Brige and some class defender.
You have money and you should start acting like Hamburg, start bringing young and talented players.
And hury coz I want look Emre and Oba how wining Man and Chelsea.

Emre is more likely (well almost certain) to get dropped ahead of Parker considering Parker is the captin, Emre's passing is fantastic but quite often he can get bullied and pushed off the ball. He just seems a bit of a luxury player atm.

Nicky Butt although not the most popular player here should sit deep in holding role and allow Parker/Emre to go forward to go forward, he adds a bit of steel to our Midget (they're tiny!!!) Midfield :D

Back to Oba now, he looked good yesterday but and slight Injury to Ameobi ment we had to play milner upfront as a striker who is far too similar to Oba, just not as good. When Ameobi comes back he will provide the perfect foil for Oba as he can play as a target man and will link up well with a pacy striker.

Yes I hope that will work for you, just can't see that you wining in 442, Chelsea tactic from last year with two wide wingers(Duff-Dyer or Oba),one striker(Oba of Ameobi) one AM(Emre) and two DM(Parker and Butt) looks perfect for type of players you have and don't forget bunch of class midllefiler who you can have like backup(Luqe,Milner,Solano?)

I see some similarities between the transfer of Mo Kallon, and Oba. Kallon was also a young, passionate Inter player. It's fair to say that he hasn't gone on to bigger and better things.

I sincerely hope that Oba goes on to be a good consistent player wherever he plays, but it's not the end of the world for us.

Good luck Oba.
