As much as I love Kara, he tends to dives sometimes. I remember watching a game, where he screamed like a tennis player when he was tackled.

I shoulda saw this coming. Karagounis was a favorite of mine because he had character and he always played giving his all. Figo (who I still skeptic about) has forced him out of the team, and I'm especially pissed because it wasn't Kily who was let go instead. He was never given the full chance he deserved and he never complained. Forza Karagounis. :star:

And here i thought that you love divers? :p

I hate to admit it, but it´s true that Karagounis was bit of a diver as well [no way close to €igo´s, $olari´s or even Cruz´s level though... ]. He has other, lovable skills that makes me to forget his diving ability. He was a real fighter, humble and an awesome all-around-player. He was just what we needed, instead we sold/gave him away and bought more primadonna´s.

Karagounis was called by Greek Sat TV this morning, and was asked some things about his move and about the NT(which u don't care!)...

He was asked what made him move to Benfica. He said that Benfica is a historic club, and that plays in the CL and have won it in the past. For those who don't know, Karagounis got Eusebio's number! Number 10...

A reporter asked him how was his spell at Inter and he said that he has very good memories, that he got to play against top teams like Milan(CL) and Juve and that the league was a big test for him. He said that Moratti was always there for him and that his experience at Inter was even greater because of the great players that he was surrounded by everyday, players that are among the best in the world...

Good luck at Benfica (and beat Kazakhstan, Denmark and Georgia!)

I'd just like to reiterate "If Figo sucks then I'm gonna be pissed the hell off for us selling him."

If not for the fact that I don't have Chino's & Cafe's jerseys yet, I'd seriously consider getting Kara's jersey. :proud:

I'm as emotional and pessimistic as the next Interista, but who can really blame Figo for this? the guy is a proven, world-class winger while Kara never got started off on the right foot. It isn't just something that was decided over the span of a night, so regardless of how he performs, this wasn't a quick conclusion.

Anyways, I'm glad to see that Karagounis doesn't hold any grudges towards the fans, the club or even Mancio. I'm sure he was very fortunate for the very limited opportunities that he's gotten and is aware that the fans really appreciate his fighting spirit and how hard he works for the team. Benfica have gotten themselves a player with heart, yet so much finess and skill - a package that isn't often found all together in this day and age. I wish Kara the very best.

Great and nice words by Kara, it's always nice to hear our ex-players speaking fondly of their experience here, even if it wasn't successful.

Contrast that with what ex-Juve players say! They made Maresca hate Serie A now!

Crespo, Figo, I
Yeah, Karagounis is certainly deserved better chance... and the positive way he saw his life with inter.... made me respect him even more....

I would support Benfica in CL (when they don't meet us)
I also supported Greece in Euro..., I don't care that they were the underdogs.. People at the office were betting for the championships....

and I won two bets at that time :D and I never won any bet in my life...
I am not a gambler and not condoning it, I was putting my money to the box just to hang out with clients... But I just couldn't forget that Euro..!

Another Karagounis interview, this time on Greek radio. What he says is quite sad but true...

Karagounis stated that he Mancini didn't force him out of the club, like the Italian media is speculating.
Karagounis: "Everything that went out from the press about any problems with my ex-coach is untrue. I was part of his plans. Last season I played a number of games in the second round. At the begining of the season, I had a word with him, and he said that he needed meand wanted me to stay at Inter. But after the first championship game, where I didn't play, I couldn't wait any longer. I lost patience. I have never thought of leaving the club, but I understood that things would be the same as last year, with few appearances, so I took this decision. Mancini forcing me out is not a valid reason, I want to point this out. I just couldn't be any more patient, because I thought I could have done a lot more"

This guy is simply amazing. I've never met a player who blamed himself because he is not getting enough play time. In terms of professionalism, you may sue me for saying this, but he even eclipse that of Paolo Maldini & Javier Zanetti.

Forza forza forza Karagounis! Instantly my favorite non-Inter player. :star:
