Best of luck to Andy. I was more than delighted when he joined us. However I was hoping for more than what he had to offer. Further more everyone who ever had the chance to meet him in person would tell you that he is a decent bloke.

I think It was about 4 millions..., Andy was one of the most promising RM, he is in dutch NT... and Ajax is always full of young talents...

Cuper's team was lacking wide midfielders to support his tactics... Cuper wanted Solari, Kily and Van Der Meyde..... Instead he got Kily, Van Der Meyde and Luciano.. I remember the phrase Luciano once said that he was luckier than Beckham since he could serve strikers like Vieri at Inter...

So VDM was given plenty of chances...
It was a very logical decision to buy him at the 1st place.., but then he could not adapt to serie A is another matter

If that's so, then it's an excellent bargain by the board.

Such a talented player. I don't like his style of play for the quick, wall to wall passing of the English Premier League, though. He's a pretty slow player for a right winger these days, and rather take out his man then initiate a quick one-two technique with a central midfielder.

Everton and the league in general won't suit his style IMO.
