:depress: guys, what exactly happened to inter? Did we once again failed to control the game? or was it just because we defensively sucked...i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw the score 3-2...and the ratings of each player was just terrible :depress:

In the first half we could keep possesion and this result in the trouble we had. We also had no with what so ever. Defensively we were ok except on crosses and set pieces.

Inter favourites for Serie A?

This is just a wake up call (early one too).
I'm happy atleast now that some stupud comments such as:

"No, we shouldn't sign a right back, we're fine"
"Play Veron and Pizarro toghether"
"Play Veron on the wing"
"Kily is better than Solari"
"Figo is past it"
"Martins is the real deal"
"Materazzi and Favalli are good defenders"
"Cambiasso is god"

These comments hopefully won't be said again.

We were sh1t. We are decent (3rd/4th, right now).
What this team needed today was a giant influence in Samuel who would've just from the beginning just slapped on of the Palermo players of the park and taken some control of the defence, but more so taken control of the Sicilians minds.

Yep, sure, one game is enough to make a definite judgement about all that... :wallbang:

And about all this negative crap about Scudetto gone, Inter finishing 3rd or 4th, let's try and get over this childish attitude, where we say "We'll win Scudetto and CL" after a win, and "We won't win shit" after a defeat.

Thank God for the Hameds and the Handoyos around here, who can keep some prospective and don't prepare a funeral for Inter after 1 bad night.

Bah I couldn't even wait till tomorrow to see this game. I had to know the result. Probably a bad decision of my part. :(

I always knew this was gonna be a tough game but why Mancio decided to experiment during the 2nd week of the season, against a very tough team at home, is beyond my comprehension. Everyone knows Pizarro and Veron will never work. Mancini has to go with one or the other (I myself like Piza much more) and stick with him. I thought our coach learned his lesson last year about playing Seba on the wings, where he was very ineffective, but I guess not. I see Cuchu also had a rough game (one of his few) but that's not surprising seeing he was probably over-worked with Piza and Seba in the same lineup.

My biggest concern is RB however. I've begun to wonder if Ze Maria can cut it against some of the stronger teams i.e Palermo. Defending, as we all know, is not his strong suit and we can only hope he's either replaced (Cordoba or Burdisso?) once Samuel comes back, he improves, or Capitano makes a miraculous recovery in time for next weeks game. :p

I think lots of Interisti are upset over this loss more due to the fact that we're really not used to losing or getting dominated than anything else. But it happens from time to time (just look at the La Liga scoreboard today) and we just have to shallow our pride and get ready for Artmedia.

It's just funny how you can say these things after what the team has achieved last year, it's still early in the season and we have time to fix our team back and i don't see any problem people being proud of their team and their players,

Err, I actually stay postive here. I never got out and crticise the team. All I'm saying is that we are not favourites to win like so many people have said. I said we are a decent team at the moment, Milan and Juventus are good teams.

I did say it was just a wake up call.
I'd like someone to stop with the witty comments and try and back my post up and tell me what was wrong with it. I mean FFS, 2 playmakers? people saying Figo is past it? Ze Maria is fine @ right back? et.al ...I'll be waiting boys.

I think we need stability in our team. We need Samuel, Figo, Burdisso and Solari/Stankovic in our team if we are to have stability.

Mancio said:

"The boys did what they had to do. Perhaps they just should have been a bit more careful, but no one has any specific blame. After a defeat you usually try to blame someone, but if anyone is to blame then I am, for several things.
"We must stay calm. Against Palermo we suffered a defeat that could be useful to us for the continuation of the championship."

On the performances of Veron and Pizarro in midfield, Mancini said: "They did what they had to do. They combined well on a pitch that at the beginning created a few problems for us. But they did well. In these cases the result always influences opinion, but it shouldn't be like this."

at least the coach made a correct analysis....you just felt before kick-off we were already a goal down.....the first 20 minutes confirmed it..........

Im just repeating what everyone has said...our formation lost this match...the mid-field was all wrong...

First time I can trully say Inter deserved the defeat...Palermo were the better team.....we did not deserve a Samp style comeback

the only positive is that we still have the ability to fight.... :star: Cruz and Adri at the end...who knows if Chino had come on for Kily at the start of 2nd half

but all in all a dissapointment ...a small one in context for the rest of the season....one we can learn from

the game's ahead is a chance to correct our mistakes :)

Atleast he took the blame. I hope after this game, we will only see the likes of Kily play against relegation-battlers and not teams like Palermo. After this match, I'm 100% sure that Burdisso will come back and play right back for us, forget how good he attacks...the first priority for a fullback is to defend, and then attack..that is what Burdisso will do and he has played right back on numerous occasions, even for his country and has done well.

Well , it's late here to give a full-match analysis BUT :

1- I think , this is a bump in the road towards great titles and il grande Inter but We have to accept this ...please guys stop bashing mancio , moratti etc... this was in the past ...keep the past in the past Cz definitely we are so much better than the past and also we won some trophies ....therefore we have changed mentality .

2- Mancio's has done some mistakes but you have to know guys that he was forced not to start with figo or Deki since they were the ones who returned late so that left him with the crappy kily (today) and to play veron on the right which was suicidal today

How is the team?
"The squad is in quite good condition, even if many players were absent in the week because of international commitments. Adriano is also in quite good condition and he did the whole training session with the squad today. Figo and Stankovic are still recovering because they're the last ones back, but they are in good condition too." Inter.it

3- Figo , Recoba and lastly cruz has made impact today and i think that from now on , we shall start with this line-up:

CEsar/Toldo

Zemaria Cordoba Samuel Favalli

Figo Veron Cambi Deki

Adriano Recoba

4- It wasn't mancio's fault that Capitano got injured and we all know how ze maria is not good defensively .

5- martins didn't show what he can do today and it looked like the team was having an off-day but it happens and as Hamed said ...i'd go for a loss than a 30 ties ...cz we learn this way and mancio also learn not to make alot of changes internally and affect the team's consistency and tranquility but however Im looking forward to our next match and im still very optimisitc about our serious challenge for the scudetto in this campaign and we must pick up ..

Its simple, just dont play Pizarro and Veron together. i dont see it happening. We just need to pick ourselves up after this loss.

At least its not a draw like last season...

umm, losing would probably be better off for us than drawing, drawing doesn't seem to be too hurt, and seems like we have already lost our title "The comeback kings" which i do not know whether its good or not

who's that second from left (between Davids and Veron?)

Anyway, I think you will have to remove the pic from your sig, since it's not allowed on the forums.

Our second match of the season, and our first loss. Disappointed, definitely, but I'm not ready to give up the scudetto hope just yet. Everyone was talking about how difficult this match would be, considering the home support Palermo get. But only scoring after conceding 3 goals is a bit disappointing, IMO. When I first saw the scoreline, I though it was going to be some closed fought, 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2 stuff. But, it wasn't.

The midfield was kind of strage though. Pizzaro, Veron and Cambiasso all in the starting line-up? Who played on the right?

This is the first match I've slept through for as long as I can remember. It started at something like 1.30am here and I couldn't wake myself up to follow it (I even set alarm).

It's not a pleasant feeling to wake up and see Palermo 3-2 Inter next to <snip>. So it was a bad start to the day. Then I read the formation and team selection and it's no wonder. We should have stuck to our 4-4-2. I'm very bitter about this because, as much as I like Mancini, he f-cking lied.

QUOTE - ROBERTO MANCINI
Will you continue with a 4-4-2 formation in Palermo?
"Yes, absolutely."

Then why did we play 4-3-1-2? That pisses me off.

Secondly, I don't believe Veron and Pizarro can co-operate. I think one playmaker is needed and the team should revolve around him when attacking. When there are 2 it gets complicated. Mancini should also know that Veron can't operate in a wide role. We're repeating mistakes from the euroderby.

Figo should definitely have been used from the start. He's in hot form, playing for Portugal he was incredible. Also, Stankovic should have been used instead of Kily. You don't bring an out-of-form, ageing Kily Gonzalez into the line-up in place of Stankovic who played very well against Treviso.

When you shuffle the pack (so to speak) you're bound to fail. Look at Manchester United last season, they kept rotating formations and players, they finished 3rd for the 2nd consecutive season. We're on course for emulating that, which would be a great f-cking failure.

Thankfully it's just early and we usually come back from losses with a bang. Mancini also realises he made mistakes, which is good. He's a reasonable man who deserves a lot of respect. He tried something new and failed, there's no shame in that. It's just an important lesson. I predict we will beat Artmedia by a few goals mid-week then back it up with a confident win at home to Lecce on Saturday. Anything less than this will be a serious problem.

It just goes to show how much we miss the presence of Javier Zanetti... :depress:

Let's also not forget that Juve lost away to Palermo last season and still managed to win the Scudetto by a big gap. So this is not such a big issue. A loss can be benficial, it means we don't get too big-headed.

Another thing to note is that our last 2 losses have been away to Sicilian teams..

Fucking Sicilians...

Edit by Han: No other matches' result, Primo. ;)
