The following line ups have been reported by Serbian sports daily Спортски Журнал (The Sports Journal):

Inter: Handanovic, Silvestre, Cambiasso, Juan Jesus, Jonathan, Pereira, Mudingayi, Gargano, Guarin, Palacio, Cassano.

Partizan: Petrovic, Miljkovic, Ostojic, Ivanov, Lazevski, Medo, Smiljanic, Tomic, Ilic, Markovic, Mitrovic.

The line up from the team that shall not be named is pretty much the same I posted about 2 pages ago. Mitrovic still gets the nod over the Scepovic brothers and Sasa Ilic is retained as the experienced midfielder right behind the striker. The only difference is that Lazevski starts ahead of Volkov who has been relatively consistent for them this season as well as for Macedonia in the 2012 World Cup Qualifiers.

As for us...... 3-5-2! Pretty bold move by Strama IF true, and having Cambiasso at center back is definitely an interesting choice. We have done it before. I just hope the communication is there as their wingers will definitely be attacking. Looks like Silvestre and Jonathan will be going head to head vs Markovic. Good luck to 'em!

I think Mudingayi and Gargano will act as holders in the midfield, with Guarin slightly ahead of them. Pereira as expected starts in the left wide back role. Cassano and Palacio up front!

Judging from the line up, I think Strama wants to guarantee qualification tonight so he doesn't have to bother with an experienced first 11 for the last two games. Quite the move if that is his thinking.

Serbian newspapers say Markovic to Inter is very, very close.

Yesterday, some of the fans in Macedonia went to see the open training, Branca was there talking to Markovic. Maybe something does happen behind the scenes? Branca NEVER ever goes to away games, let alone talk to the opposition players...

HOLY FUCKING DILDOS FROM SPACE!

Markovic is 18? I assumed he was like 24 or something. Everybody stop what you're doing and sign this kid!

I hope that Pereira shall preform tonight, just to make sure that he was worth the money.

imho i have nothing against markovic, however i just dont think we need any attacking midfielders of any kind, or defensive players atm. I would just sign him, and loan him back to Partizan and in 2-3 years bring him to the club. I honestly dont want to see Coutinho and Alvarez lose anymore playtime.

I think Strama wants to try Guarin in the attacking midfielder role again

Has anyone seen Markovic play much?.. I only saw the first match against us which was very impressive, but still only one game.

& what time is kick off UK time?

Hey Howl,

I have watched Markovic play for a year now (ever since he burst onto the scene). He got his chance under the former Partizan coach Aleksandar Stanojević, the same coach which had them playing the Champions League. At the beginning of LAST season they had a shortage of strikers... this was due to their best striker going for money to China. They bought a couple of players but none of them impressed heavily. Markovic ended up impressing the most out of all of them, so he was given a shot. He is also an academy product.

That was when Markovic took off... he started scoring for them in the league week in week out and halfway through the season had about 8-10 goals if memory serves. It might not seem like a lot, but for a defensive league such as ours, combined with the fact that he was 17 and it was immediately impressive.

That was when he started getting linked to Chelsea and Fiorentina and how much both clubs wanted to sign him. However, during the winter break the coach that had given him his shot was fired after a bitter quarrel with the board (IMO the coach was right) and Avram Grant came in for the 2nd half of the season. Markovic hardly played in the 2nd half (slightly due to the injury) but also because Grant preferred more experienced players. In the end Markovic had a mixed season at 17 years of age. After Partizan won the title this past year (mainly due to Stanojevic building a lead at the halfway point) Grant was let go as the club succumbed to three straight defeats from their most hated rivals (2x in the Cup and 1x in the league - unimaginable as the club has been dominant in recent years) and the new coach Vladimir Vermezovic was hired. He has inserted Markovic in the starting 11 from the beginning of the year, and has played him on the wing often as an inside forward.

His main strength at the beginning of last year was his frightening pace, but since then his ball control has improved immensly as you saw when he hit the post against us in the home tie. He picked up the ball on the left and started dribbling at Jonathan and Silvestre before getting that shot off. That part of his game improved over this past summer. HOWEVER, he still lacks composure in front of goal at times. He had a 1v1 vs Red Star Belgrade in the Serbian Cup semifinal last year and put it over the bar; he also had the same opportunity against Inter 2 weeks ago and he messed up. But I think that will come with time. His main strength is good positioning when looking to be played in, and pace. Ball control is getting stronger, finishing could use some work.

I personally think he will sign for Inter due to the connections of Mihajlovic and Inter. Markovic has been featuring heavily thus far for the Serbian National Team during the World Cup qualifiers, and even though the team has mixed results at best, he has been one of the more better and consistent performers on the wing. Mihajlovic mentioned that Morrati has actually contacted him in the past week or so to discuss the potential of Lazar, so it looks like the transfer will happen.

4-5-1, almost zero creativity in the midfield, Silvestre and Jonathan in starting lineup, Livaja as a lonely striker.
