So their plan was to start looking for replacement only when they are about to sell Schick? Did they looked for replacement when Schick was about to go to Juve?

I think this replacement thing is just another invention by reporters to give a reason why the transfer hasn't happened.


My guess is it's more about Inter not striking the deal yet since it's 30m investment.

In that instance they wouldn't have been getting money for him so replacing him would have been more difficult (nor did they know how long he was going to be out for). As for why they didn't get a replacement before he went to Juve....because they had no say in when he was leaving because he had a buy-out clause then. It was also far earlier in the window.

its not that much different than us selling perisic to man u. we maybe would have considered it earlier in the window but now selling him woutld be insane because of the hit to the team and the fact that we would have to scramble to try and find anyone who can have that much impact with a quick negotiation and at a fair price.
