Bumping this thread up. I picked up an RX580 the other day and moved on from my old 1gb 6870, meaning I can actually run games from 2014 onward now  Since I'm out of the loop in terms of what's good and new, other than the usual AAA titles that I hear my friends mention, feel free to recommend games you've enjoyed lately, single player stuff mostly. My first thing on the to-do list is The Witcher 3 since I absolutely loved the first game back in the day, second being quite mediocre in my opinion.
I don't have too much time for games nowadays so I'm trying to stick with a few titles instead of wasting time on downloading and setting up 50 games only to not play anything properly.

Also, latest PES or FIFA? I don't care about licensed clubs and kits and bells and whistles, mostly curious about the gameplay.

I really really like the Total War games,, but you have to be a fan of strategy games to play this game. You have alot of different era's, I like the Roman empire alot so I only play the Total War Rome game. The only bad thing about it is that you pay for the game and after (only if you want to offcourse) you have to keep playing for the DLC's they put out.

I remember Rome 2 getting a lot, and I mean a lot of flak on launch for all kinds of bugs and issues? Is it patched and smooth nowadays?
Will look into it, the last strategy game I thoroughly enjoyed was the first Company of Heroes with mods. And the last TW game I played was Medieval 2 but I didn't enjoy it too much for some reason, despite liking the first Rome game.

For me thats the biggest problems with the Total War series, I never buy the game directly when it is available because I know as you said their are Always alot of bugs etc. Normally I wait 6 months or so to buy it. For now I don't have issues when playing the game, don't get tempted by all the DLC's out there, most of them are just some minor upgrades with a story line but nothing special. (I know because I've bought alot of them).

The other series of Total War I don't know so I can't tell you anything about those.

Company of Heroes is a great game! I also saw Age of Empires is renewed etc but haven't looked into it but this is maybe one of the best games ever made, at least it's nostalgic.

I recommend Dishonored 1/2, Prey if you like them System Shock 2 type games

Doom (2016) is amazing FPS.

That's all I got that you shouldn't miss out if you like the genre. Hopefully you'll like Witcher3, but that might also mean you won't like any other rpg anymore.

I enjoyed the first Dishonored, I didn't even know there was a sequel, neat!

I already don't like any RPG after the first Witcher game  Few games disappointed me the way The Witcher 2 did.

I guess to be even more disappointed because 3 is more like 2. I'm only saying this because I loved everything in 2 more than in 1. Except story and quests, I guess.

Anyways, Witcher 3, with both addons, is the once in a generation game. Really good.

DOTA really has never been better in term of diversity, you can literally pick any hero and play it any different role and it could help you win. IO carry in a game where win brings you 15 mil of dollars...balls of steel.

France just ruled that Steam may have to abide by re-selling digial content.

I really hope that happens, they can do a marketplace for licenses on ur account that u want to sell and they can take a percentage of it, i have so many trash games i dont want and wasted money on its absurd.

So I finally got permission from my wife to get a gaming lap top :D Not going for PC as we live in small apartment currently and there is nowhere to place it, so im going with a lap top.

Tho my budget is limited, i have enough money to get more than decent lap top. My shortlist (for now) is as this:

Option 1:

Brand: Asus
Display: 15.6" (39.624cm)
Resolution: FHD (1920x1080) IPS
CPU: Intel Core i7-9750H 2.6GHz (12M,4.5GHz)
Graphic card: NVIDIA GTX1650 4GB
RAM: 16GB
HDD: 1TB + 256GB SSD

Option 2:

Brand: ASUS
Display: 15.6" (39.62cm)
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
CPU: Ryzen 7-3750H 2.3GHz (6M cache, up to 4.0GHz)
Graphic card: Nvidia Gforce GTX 1650 4GB
RAM: 16GB
HDD: 1TB HDD+ 256GB SSD

Option 3

Brand: Asus
Display:17,3"(43,94cm)
Resolution:(1920x1080) FHD IPS
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7-3750H Processor 2.3GHz (6M cache, up to 4.0GHz)
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti 6GB
RAM:16GB
HDD: 512GB SSD

Option 4

Brand: Acer
Display:17,3"(43,94cm)FHD IPS
Resolution:(1920x1080)
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-8750H (up to 4.10 GHz)
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB
RAM:16GB DDR4
HDD:1TB HDD 5400 rpm/min

Option 1 is the most expensive, option 2 the cheapest, and option 3 is my personal fav, because of the GPU and the screen size, and the CPU is also decent (even tho the intel i7 8th generation might be a bit better).

Opinion? :D

At first glance i would say option 3 is the best because no mechanical hard-drive. I would avoid any laptop with a hard-drive other than SSD, if u want more storage go with a USB external but the only drive on the laptop should be an SSD. IF u r gonna use it and not use an external screen and dont care about portability go with the 17. I would just look at how that CPU and GPU combination works, AMD cpus and Nvidia GPUs sometimes dont play nice with each other. How much is option 3?

Option 3 is 58k macedonian denars, in euros it would be around 950.

As for compatibility, i thought of that myself, i googled, most of the articles (if not all), said that Ryzen 3/5 might have compatibility issues, but Ryzen 7 is compatible with all NVIDIA GPUs. My worries are little to none about that issue. If someone can say more from experience, now is the time :D

I got a better laptop for the same price (950), wait a bit for the prices to drop, maybe there will be a Black Friday discount
