Porto has sacked coach Luigi Del Neri! As you know he went to Porto from Chievo. Apparently the Champions of Europe club managers didn't like his numerous trips to Italy and the way he was managing the team.

When I read that I was so surprised that my jaw dropped to the floor!

They're the Champions of Europe for crying out loud, they're coachless and it's the 7th of August today!!

Poor fella!

Well, it was shocking. But if it's true that Del Neri missed and were late for several training and get-together sessions, he deserved to get his a$$ fired. But he said, he's gonna produce a totally different story from 'the other side'. Let's wait for his words.

This is one strange story...I really think he is not a guilty part in this one and have my suspicions but i hope it clears up soon.

Come on, even if Del Neri was guilty of being lackadaisical in his training methods, it shouldn't mean that he should get the sack! Obviously there is more to this story than has been told. It would be nice to see what Gigi Del Neri has to say about this whole ridiculous story.

Ciao,
Tim

At the moment Del Neri, Zac and Cuper are the "reserve coaches". By that I mean that they're the ones most likely to take over the job of whoever will get sacked in Serie A.

Any bets on who'll be first? Zeman at Lecce?

Capello is my best guess if they don´t buy defenders they will hit rock bottom - look at Inter and Milan. Their squads are starstudded.

I have a gut feeling they are gonna fail miserably unless Emerson is as good as many say... ;)

You haven´t seen Emerson? I saw in the other thread that you just bought Canal + which broadcasts Serie A. Correct me if i´m wrong, but have you actually seen any Serie A matches in your tv for a while?

IF not, then how could you praise Zac so much, complain about Cannavaro´s season etc etc.

No offense, but i´m just curious...

Edit: I would actually like to request a poll about this. How many members have a chance to watch Serie A (Inter mostly) matches from tv? If you haven´t seen Inter in years or so, then post it that i´ll know. :)

Maybe Han Do Yo could create a poll, or any admins/mods? I would appreciate it. I´m very curious...

Hehe. I only saw it now. They will install CANAL+ on Tuesday. :star: ´

I admire Zac for obvious reasons. ;)

I lost my patience with Canna after he screwed up so that Shevchenko scored in Euro Derby vs. Milan.

Oh and the last time I saw a Serie A game was in 1998 I believe. :)

It was a Cordoba's mistake that led to Sheva's gol in the Euroderby. A very small one, but he paid dearly for it.

It was both of them.

Nope, just a slight mistake by Cafe, and good skills by Sheva.
