Vidal will be more than fine, but replace vidal with eriksen in your sentence, and you have my conundrum in all of this.

The whole situation in midfield confuses me. Right now we have Brozovic, Barella, Sensi, Eriksen, Vidal (soon), Nainggolan, Vecino and Gagliardini. We're talking about 8 midfielders for 3 positions. Even if we offload one of Vecino and Gagliardini there are still way too many. I can't get what Conte wants to do in midfield (maybe a Brozovic/new DM-Vidal-Barella midfield trio?) and how there could be space for both Vidal and Nainggolan in the squad.

Thanks, while the back line and the attacking one are easy to get, the midfield still get me thinking. Maybe the idea is two type of midfield (like this season):

That would leave two spots open. Hopefully one is barella and one between Kante or Partey.

HOWEVER I fully expect to see Vidal as starter with conte tho.

Because the usable midfielders are only a few thanks to our inability to sell and failed mercato in the past.
The core midfield will comprise Brozovic, Vidal, and Barella with Eriksen/Sensi, Vecino/Gag, and Nainggolan as substitutes. However, Sensi will keep breaking his legs entire season while Conte hates Eriksen from his guts for whatever reason. We suppose to have either Vecino or Gag as a rotational allround midfielder but Vecino is injured and no offer comes for Gag. I suspect Marotta thinks Nainggolan will be serviceable for Conte. Alas, Conte has gayish fetish to Vidal and we are stuck with Nainggolan who nobody affords and wants.
