Yeah, I remember us being after this guy in the summer. Don't remember for what reason we didn't end up with this guy... thought it was something about the non-EU rule, but I can see he's from Croatia...

Sky said that it was because the non-EU rule that the deal with Milan collapsed. Confusing situation indeed but it seems like we've got him.

I just read that he chose Inter because he had problems with his club and parents, so he let them decide and they decided Inter. He said he was deeply sorry for not picking AC Milan, beacause it was his favourite club.

But why the is the non-EU rule been pulled in to this case? He's from Crotia, isn't he?

Maybe because he couldnæt be transferred before he was 18?

Croatia is not a member of the eu. Hence players from croatia non eu. They have applied for eu status but haven't been given it yet.

Apparently he is gonna go on loan to one of the "friendly" clubs, Genoa or Chievo. So if Inter do that does he still take up an non-EU spot? I hope not.

No, I believe the rule prevents you from registering more than 1 non-EU player per season, but you can buy as many as you want. If we buy him and loan him out, he will be registered with another club and our non-EU spot will still be available...

Milan - Inter have got their hands on Tony Huston, the 18 year-old central defender of Le Mans. Huston (former U-16 and U-17 player) was at Pinetina last week where he trained from Monday to Thursday leaving a good impression. Yesterday, an offer from Juventus came so the leaders of Inter have decided to speed up the time and so today, an agreement is expected for the transfer to Inter.

We are really active in terms of getting youngsters. Now only if these guys can turn out to be something good...

I have no clue about him, but I've read that they're considering him as the new Thuram.

TRANSFER MARKET

The future of Inter has already started with the purchases of three youngsters of high quality.
Get rid of the wrinkles with Tony, Rodrigo and Luc.
Houston, Alborno and Castaignos: strong, young, and less than 3 million.

Milan - What will be the cream against wrinkle for Inter? Well, they are. They are defined as the new Henry, Thuram and Sanchez. The great carousel comparison does not stand still but if Inter's Castaignos, Houston and Alborno can turn out to be the two Frenchmen and Nino Maravilla, then, well, it will be a... bingo for competence and vision. Because these three are surely the future of Inter while Marko Livafa, Croatian striker born in 93, there is still something to discuss with Hajduk Spalato. With around 2.7 million euros, Inter are waiting to know whether they can get Livaja on a free transfer. But Inter have secured three players that are imbued to the future.

Thirteen goals Luc Castaignos is, precisely, defined as the new Thierry Henry: ambidextrous, dynamic and modern striker born in 92 currently playing for Feyenoord and this season, he has scored 13 goals in Eredivisie. Scoring in many ways, and has personality to take penalty kicks. Inter have secured him for 1.5 million euros.

Specimen The latest acquisition is Tony Houston, center back (or right-back) of Le Mans, French second division club. Acquired on loan with the right to fully purchase, the Frenchman, born in '93, has great timing and quality in the air so much so that in France, they label him as a new Thuram. Inter have decided to take him after tests conducted and lasted for a few days in Appiano Gentile

Passport Then, here is another talent that to some people is the new Alexis Sanchez, Udinese's Nino on which Inter have had their eyes on for some time. The name is Rodrigo Alborno, born in 93 and currently playing for Libertad di Asuncion. A trequartista but mostly plays on the wing because his best weapon is when he cuts into the center and goes forward. He knows how to change his pace, with speed of execution, and is physically set (1.83 m). He is used mainly on the left and has an EU passport. The 18 year-old will sign a contract with Inter and with a cost of 1.2 million.

Thanks Mike, was looking for this.

Has anyone seen Huston and/or Alborno play? Are they anything good?

He plays for the Le Mans Reserve team, but has not featured in a match this season, so I doubt anyone has seen him play...

We are really active in the market for youngsters, I think the reason behind that, is that our current Primavera players arent good enough and cannot break it through into the first-team except few of them.

The percentage of players who make it from the youth team to senior football especially at a top club is always very very small. How many players from man utd's youth team have made it to their senior since the 1995 beckham team. Virtually none.

We scout for youth talent around the world because its cheaper to get them at an earlier age since we can't compete with the top richest 4/5 clubs or very seldom. Also even if they flop they still have a resale value compared to older players.

We're like signing many hot prospects hoping that one would develop into a world beater in the coming FFP era. :p:p
