Problems with the Forum

Alright, I've tried to work something about the new banner. Though I really lack with some inspiration or ideas, but however I actually like this one and took me some good time to make it. There's also forzainterforum's logo in the left side but with looks smooth and blured but however that's the point to not be that plain. I hope you guys like it!

I like it Bes, but I thought it would be better if the blue and black on the side make a shape of \/ rather than /\ bcs it would show a wider area of CN.

It wouldn't work man, because the picture is not that big so I had to work around it, and the best I could do was that. I get your point though!

FIF logo on the left needs much more opacity, you can barely see it, furtherly I would experiment a little more with bevel and emboss... I think the / \ shape is good btw, because the blue and black parts with the low opacity Inter-logo's in them now perfectly fit to the sides forum, if you know what I mean... And on the left and right sides of the image I'd make a very small transition to black to make it look like it smoothly flows over to the black background of the rest of the forum... Sigh, so hard to explain what I mean XD Looks nice already, though :thumbsup:

I work as a graphic designer so I can give it a try, do you want to keep the forzainterforums logo the same? And what format of image would you like to have (.png, .jpg)?

Logo needs to stay the same. I'm not sure which format we need. This one is in .png though so I guess you should use that format.

I'm new here and have few posts, so who gives a shit about what I say, but having a uni degree on 2D Graphic Design & currently doing a 2 year adv. diploma on digital media arts bugs me without saying this: Do not redesign the banner. Don't change something that is not broken. The current banner gives identity to this forum. If however you're super keen on changing it, then only do minor modifications to the actual one, not something new completely.

@Besnik A friendly 'critique' for your banner: it is just too busy, lots of colors make logos/banners look amateurish. Another thing to remember is that poetry fonts do not play well with photoshop effects. classic fonts and scriptures should never have any rubbish web 2.0 effects such as glow, gardients emboss etc.

Very true tbh, I also don't see what is wrong with it... You can just remove the badges and/or correct the size tho

Thanks. I highly appreciate your view about this. Sadly, Uni has never bothered with to make any kind of design like example wallpapers or avatars, but however I'm sure he has the abilities and a great eye on designs. Though it's true that banner should remain simplier and so, but I'm used to work with different stuff and so, like I do with wallpapers and avatars.

I don't see any such gap in the header but then again I use a netbook so I have a smaller screen than probably most of you. Is there a way to make it so that the graphic automatically adjusts to the individual user's screen size/resolution?
