It´s been added now. But again, I´d like to point out that the analysis of the players AS A PLAYER is rather short.

But I appriciate it nontheless. It´s just me who write so damn much whenever I write an article. :)

Some Current nerrazurri profiles i found before they join the club

PROFILES---------------------
GIORGIOS KARAGOUNIS

The clock is ticking on the Panathinaikos career of midfield wizard Giorgios Karagounis.

It is safe to assume the 24-year-old international will soon become the latest high-profile Greek export. After all, it was a major shock when an expected transfer to Italy failed to materialise last summer. Serie A clubs Udinese and Bologna were both vying for his services, but ultimately negotiations reached a mysterious dead end.

Some claimed Karagounis pulled the plug because he felt Panathinaikos were pressurising him to sign for Udinese - who were prepared topay œ3.5million - while he preferred to go to Bologna, whose bid was lower but who were offering him better terms.

Whatever the reasons, prospective buyers will be much more persistent in the coming months. Karagounis has been top of the bill for Panathinaikos in the Champions League, while his reputation was greatly enhanced by his performance in Greece's 2-2 World Cup qualifying draw with England last October. "Giorgios was a big problem for England all afternoon," said Greece coach Otto Rehhagel. "Hewas very busy, excellent in his passing and movement off the ball, and the ideal springboard for our counter-attacks."

Karagounis, captain of the Greek Under-21 side that finished runners-up in the 1998 European Championship, obviously relishes a big game. Both this term and last, he has saved some of his best performances for the Champions League, occupying centre-stage as Panathinaikos twice defied the odds to qualify for the second phase.

Juventus and Manchester United will need no reminding of how he rose to the occasion against them in 2000-01, and he has again excelled in Europe this season. He proved the match winner when heading the only goal against Arsenal in Athens in September.

His recent domestic League formhas not been of the same high standard, though, and he has not always enjoyed the best of fortunes at Panathinaikos. After arriving from Apollon in summer 1998, Karagounis initially could get no further than the bench. But injury to German schemer Karl-Heinz Pflipsen during the 1999-00 season gave him his chance. Such was his exceptional form that critics were soon comparing him to Mimis Domazos, the former Panathinaikos midfield general who skippered the club to the 1971 Champions Cup Final - a 2-0 defeat by Ajax.

Karagounis deserves to be found in such exalted company.

ADRIANO

Surprises were expected from Emerson Leao's first squad as Brazil coach. But few could have foreseen the inclusion of an 18-year-old who was frequently on the bench with his club side.

"Adriano is one for the future," said Leao, after naming his party to face Colombia in a World Cup qualifier last November. "He's a big striker, the type of player we haven't seen since Serginho Chulapa."

It was not the happiest comparison. For all his domestic prowess, Serginho is best remembered for the 1982 World Cup, where many exuberant Brazilian attacks broke down at his clumsy feet.

Adriano's call-up seemed premature, a belief confirmed when he stumbled through subsequent games for his club, Flamengo. And he had little time to make an impression when coming on as a late substitute against Colombia. But his mere presence was evidence of remarkable progress. A year earlier Adriano helped Brazil to victory in the World Under-17 Championship, even though he failed to score in an attack seen generally as the team's weak point.

Young players develop at different rates. While most of his Under-17 colleagues have yet to play first-team football, Adriano was given his chance with Flamengo and responded with goals.

Until the call-up for the Colombia game, 2000 was a year of steady improvement. His threat in the air is now considerable, the result not only of his height but also of good technique. He has grown stronger in possession and his footwork is surprisingly nimble for a man of his size.

"Being called up to the national team increased my responsibilities, and I'm aware I have to keep battling to improve," he says. "It's helped me pick up experience. I'm more mature as a result."

Nevertheless, he took time to adjust to being the star name in this year's South American Under-20 Championship. An ugly stamping incident earned him a red card and a suspension, and without him Brazil's attack was toothless. But he returned with his head inthe right place — on the end of team-mates' crosses — and his goals ensured his country's comfortable qualification for the World Youth Cup in Argentina later this year.

"I've always wanted to take part in the competition," he says. "Another dream I want to fulfil this year is to buy a house for my parents."

A move to Europe would help him achieve his financial objectives, and Internazionale have shown interest in taking him on loan, though Flamengo say they are only interested in a sale.

Either way, his prestige and value are on the up and a trip to the estate agents should not be far off.

ANDY VAN DER MEYDE

WWith Ajax making losses of some œ17million last season, Andy Van der Meyde is just one of a talented crop of young Amsterdammers who could be sold off to reduce the deficit.

Only last spring, the winger signed a contract extension until summer 2005, but few in Holland would be surprised if the 23-year-old was the first out of the door.

Yet another product of Ajax's celebrated youth system, Van der Meyde has never concealed his long-term plans to emigrate to the English Premier League, and, significantly, it would seem his relationship with Ajax coach Ronald Koeman is far from harmonious.

Koeman has publicly admonished the Holland winger for being too individualistic at times and, in an attempt to rectify the problem, recently switched him from his usual right-wing spot to the opposite flank.

"When Van der Meyde plays on the left he keeps the ball better and doesn't look to make big plays all the time," explained Koeman.

He was proved right. Stationed on the left against Heerenveen in November, Van der Meyde gave one of his best displays of the season, scoring twice in a 3-0 victory. Then again, he is probably used to criticism. Early in his career, some of the Ajax coaching staff thought he did not have a strong enough personality to make the grade. While they gave him top marks for speed, technical prowess and crossing, questions were raised about his lack of confidence and consistency.

After making his debut in October 1997, events seemed to bear out the widely-held view. He could not make the breakthrough permanent and in the next 20 months played only four more times. But Van der Meyde came of age when farmed out to Twente Enschede for the 1999-2000 campaign. He was picked regularly by coach Fred Rutten and played with the sort of purpose he had rarely shown at Ajax.

"My year at Twente was great for my development," says Van der Meyde. "I learnt a lot and gained valuable experience of playing in the top flight. I went back to Ajax a more complete player."

On his recall, he quickly established himself as a first-team mainstay and last season improved still further, making a vital contribution to Ajax's League and Cup double. He also scored on his full debut for the national team in a friendly win over the United States in May.

Van der Meyde obviously has much more character and drive than he was once given credit for.

Long time no post here but I have been working hard at an Esteban Cambiasso profile and I have finished,Enjoy!

ESTEBAN CAMBIASSO

Profile:

Full name: Esteban Matias Cambiasso
Nickname: El Cuchu
Born: 18/8/1980
Height: 178cm
Weight: 72kg

Esteban Cambiasso was Inter’s third arrival at the club in the summer of 2004 joining on a free after his contract with Real Madrid ran out, he chose Inter.

Career:
Esteban Cambiasso joined top club Real Madrid at the very young age of 16, he came from home club Argentinos Juniors. When he was younger he only had an interest in Basketball but at such a young age he had already done what so many people’s dreams are based upon, joining Real Madrid.
The Argentine was arguably drafted into the first squad too soon by then coach Fabio Capello who was impressed by his vision and technique, but nevertheless all of Esteban’s hard work was coming back to him six years later when he played a man of the match performance in the European Super Cup final against Feyenoord in Monaco. Real Madrid won 3-1.
However before that, a year after he joined Real Madrid he went back to his home country for match practice where he joined Independiente. He played 98 times there scoring 14 times and then he went to top club River Plate where he got 37 appearances and 12 goals to his name.
Fast forward a few more years where the 22 year old Cambiasso was lifting the European Super Cup in Monaco, the night he was truly accepted as a Real Madrid player.
In the 2002/2003 season Esteban Cambiasso has his best season yet for Real Madrid playing 24 times in the Spanish league and 9 times in the Champions League, the next season however was not as good for the Argentine international, playing just 16 games in the whole season. It was a shame as it could have been a great year for him BUT he was only relied on at the end of the season when Real Madrid’s season had already been spoilt. He was arguably Real’s best player come the end of their season!
That was the final straw, it had been rumoured for a long time that the midfielder would move to Inter and he did, he signed on Friday the 2nd of July at Inter’s headquarters, may he have a great career at Inter!

As a player:
‘’El Cuchu’’ as he is known is a defensive midfielder, but not in the mould of Patrick Vieira or Emerson. He his quite different actually as he is not as strong and is not as much of a ball winner. However he does prove to be a very effective stopper when placed in between the defence and the midfield, certainly qualifying him as a defensive midfielder. He can tackle well and dribble well and when asked what position he plays this was his answer,
"I'm often asked this question. I'm a midfielder; I've played a bit in every role in this department according to the coach's demands: stopper or playmaker. I consider myself quite eclectic and I feel I can cover just about every position in midfield. But if I have to choose I prefer to be a playmaker."
That was something of an unexpected answer from him as most people thought he was just a defensive midfielder, He will provide very good cover for Inter as he has at some point in his career played in every position in midfield! He has even played in defence when he playing youth International football!
He is a very determined player who can run like crazy and for a midfielder of his type his does have a certain amount of flair and skill that can get him past a player, so watch out people Cambiasso can do anything!

National Team:
Esteban Cambiasso has now played for Argentina 5 times* and is yet to score, he started his international career after his countries poor showing in the 2002 World Cup in Japan/South Korea, he played in a couple of Copa America qualifiers, friendlies and now the World Cup qualifiers. Not guaranteed of a first team place in the National team ‘’El Cuchu’’ decided to not participate in the actual 2004 Copa America tournament as he wants to concentrate on his new club Inter by doing his pre season training with his club and not his country!
He has not won anything with the mens top team but he has won the Under 20’s South American tournament in 1997, Under 20’s World Championship in 1997, Under 20’s South American tournament again in 1999.
An omen for the future? We will see.

*Correct at 4/7/2004

Strengths:
Inter’s new summer signing has lots of strengths, one of his main ones being his very good vision. It is this vision that when he has the ball can spot out a good pass to start an attacking movement for his team. Another one of the Argentine’s assets is his high standard tackling a key factor if you are given the job of being Defensive midfielder in your team, which of course Esteban most probably will…
Like more Argentine players Esteban Cambiasso has great determination and a will to never give up, something that Inter fans love to see in their clubs players.

Weaknesses:
Not a man of many weaknesses ‘’El Cuchu’s’’ biggest weakness has to be his heading in general and his heading from set pieces whether it be attacking or defending! However this should be expected as he is not exactly very tall (178cm). However with players such as Adriano at the club his heading could always improve. The new Inter Milan player is also prone to the odd red card but it is highly doubtful that this will be a major problem at the club.

This is what Inter president and Ex.Player Giacinto Facchetti had to say,
"Cambiasso is part of a club project. We want to combine economic factors and technical qualities. We think we've succeeded with this important transfer market operation. He hasn't turned 24 yet and he already has significant experience. At the age of 14 he took part in the Under-17 World Youth Championship; at the age of 20 he won the Under-20 World Youth Championship," added Facchetti.
"He has played and won with Real Madrid and he won a championship with River (Plate). In Spain last season he played fewer matches than usual because of his contract expiration and his wish to join Inter after his time at Real. He's certainly a player of great talent who will help us reach the objectives that the club and all Inter fans want to reach."
