I’d quite like to see us try to win this. We’ve got Venezia, Spezia, Roma, Madrid, Cagliari. There’s plenty of room for carefully resting key players while putting a very competitive team in Madrid and in Rome.

Multiple thoughts about this game -

One is to play reserves since we have a bad schedule (in terms of sheer number of matches, not difficulty). And our players are feeling the pinch, this is specifically for the midfield.

Two is the fact that we need to avoid Bayern, Chelsea, Liverpool, etc. But also have to check here who would be the 2nd place teams that we could face.

Three, and most importantly, I am sick of losing to Real and Barcelona. Fuck them. Winning matches like these is important psychologically. Imagine the confidence our players and coach would have in next phase.

Let's go for it. Same team as against Shakhtar, except for De Vrij coming in for Ranocchia.

I don’t follow La Liga so not sure what to expect from Real. Real at home is always an intimidating prospect regardless of their coach or whatever superstar line up they have - however, the first game against earlier this season showed we can get in about them and F S up. Let’s do it, no fear! F it!
