He's not third, that's Sneijder and Cambiasso. Ricky is tied for our fourth scorer with only 2 though, plus 1 in CL. However he's our best assist-man with 5 tied with Sneijder (Sneijder 1319 minutes played, while Ricky 1162, both have 1 assist in CL). Considering it's his first year in Italy and all his injuries, I wouldn't said he was great but he was good indeed.

We have too much patience with our senatori and too little with our young players.

I meant scoring points in total:

Milito 26 goals + 4 assists = 30 points
Sneijder 5 + 5 = 10 points
Alvarez 3 + 6 = 9 points
Pazzini 8 + 1 = 9 points

According to Frisko. :D

Am i the only one who just keep comparin him with Roma's Lamela and i keep thinkin if we did the right move for him instead of Lamela. All these pace, decision, adaptin to Serie A "problems"make me think of that part.Surely what's done is done. But just wonderin..

Well let's compare:

Player - Age - Goals - Assists - Minutes - Transfer Fee

R. Alvarez - 24 - 2 (0.16 per game) - 5 (0.39 per game) - 1162 - €7-12M (Different sources say different fees)

E. Lamela - 20 - 4 (0.19 per game) - 7 (0.33 per game) - 1884 - €20M

So they contributed around the same, have similar stats and ratings too. Alvarez cost was half of Lamela, while Lamela is 4 years younger and have more potential. I'll say that judging who was the better acquisition will have to wait another year.

Alvarez is fine ffs. He's had a frustrating but overall positive and promising season. He will become much better and become an important member of the team. In the meantime, I'm gonna make fun of him because he's fucking slow.

i really hope he improves. because imo his only real effective position is in a christmas tree formation. any other position and he's more of a sub/bench player if he doesn't get better

HE WILL ALWAYS BE SLOW. Full Stop.

It doesn't matter if he's slow if he is effective. Plenty of slow non athletic players can make it, your focusing on the wrong thing. Nobody complains about Xavi's speed. If you want to criticize him then it should be for his decision making or finishing. It was his first Serie A season. Lets see the guy next year.

He'll turn out to be a great asset if he doesn't end up like Recoba, regarding injuries and playtime. He has a great talent and I hope he will put it to good use.

Definitely his speed isn't the problem its his decision making which needs improving, it drives me nuts. I mean he gets pass opposition players so easily only to get to the byline/corner and then have no idea what to do with the ball so he either dribbles it out or tries a cross which usually gets deflected out. The term use it or lose it comes to mind, needs to get rid of the ball a lot quicker, at least Coutinho is a lot better in this regard maybe he's used to that Brazlian sort of tika taka style but he is very efficient at short passing and little one-two passes.

People are constantly complaining about his speed, etc...Fuck, some players with similar position like Xavi and Riquelme are much slower than him and they are football Gods...

Ricky movements reminds me kind of a Zidane..He has class, for sure.

Ricky can be perfect 50/50 MF. he know's how to defence, he can pass to long distances and he can so smart things from the middle and to help Sneijder.

Everyone talks about Ricky's long range passing, I have yet to see any of this. Not once do I remember him doing some Pirloesque pass or anything close to it. I like Alvarez and think his short, one touch passing is great (with his left foot) but don't know why people say he's a great long range passer
